schrock's amish farm & village

This is one of those places which are touted in numerous magazines as a Amish Store; maybe so. This is a large open styled flea market, with numerous handmade items. The slots are not manned, all items are labeled with a booth number, item # and price. What is house here, is typical of many similar styled flea markets. Some prices are fair for what they are, others are quite high. In short, not a must see place, for all are similar. There is a small place to obtain some prepared food.

Was looking for a new kitchen table set and stopped in the store to look around and This very nice young man Sam Yoder came over and start talking to us He really took the time to inform us and helps us understand a lot about what they use and How they could customer fit the table to make it work for us He really went the extra mile to help and I was really please with the kindness We spent over and hour in the place but we need to go home and see how much they need to cut down to make it work He even followed up with a phone call to see If I had any more question we plan on going back to make one work for us I was impressed

We got to the village and looked around the barn with antiques, books, jewelry and more. This was a little hard because my daughter is 4 but adults will love this part. We went on a Amish buggy ride. Freddie, the horse was funny because he didn't like the flies that seemed to love him. During are ride it started to pour....wow....sitting in the back my bottom got wet. It was exciting bumping along in the rain. My daughter and husband loved it too!!! We went to the Christmas barn and saw Christmas trees decorated and so many ornaments and gadgets to buy! My daughter loved looking at all the bright trees and decorations. We bought food for the goats and sheep they had to pet. The little animals bounded right up to get your food. They have a little playground area and tables for a picnic but had enough to do that we didn't utilize this. There is a Amish house tour that we didn't take and more shops. We did get cookies and turnovers for the road. MMMMmm good. The buggy ride and house tour charge a fee. I really think the buggy ride is great to do as a family!
