Ok maybe it's me and I'm not supposed to see big monuments but this statue is nowhere to be found on the road it states. I'm so bummed so now onto the big ears of corn. I hope this still remains.

My kids love this park in any season. Small hills for sledding in the winter and nice park near the river. Playground, picnic tables, some are covered and I think you can reserve them, but I'm not sure. Grills, walking trails, grassy area, trees perfect for climbing or taking pictures. Lots of geese to feed with benches and you can also fish from there. Has sunny and shady spots, my kids love this park and love climbing up on the monument.

We were in town for an anniversary get-away weekend. Happened upon a brochure in our hotel for the Dublin Art in the Public so we spent the afternoon driving around to see most of them. Stopped as we saw other sites that looked interesting along the way. Made for an interesting adventure & some REALLY fun photo ops!

This stone sculpture, one of the City of Dublin's "Art in Public Places" projects, is on a hillside in Dublin's Scioto Park. The head of this real chief was sculpted out of stacked stone, and has a small enclosure atop it from which you can view the Scioto River, part of this lovely park. The chief was executed in 1810 by fellow Native Americans for being too friendly to white settlers. This offers great photo opportunities, and downhill is a nice playset, good climbing trees, and access to the broad river. Lots of nice covered picnic shelters and grills, Alongside the sculpture, across a park road, is a nice sled hill. You can visit and be done in 16 minutes, or linger, enjoy the river, contemplate Dublin in 1810, the year it became a village, with Wyandots hunting and camping in the surrounding ares.

Interesting rock sculpture. You can stand at the top platform and get a nice pic and then take a walk to the river. That's about it.

Stop by, but only if you have the time. If you enjoy Ohio history, then you'll like adding this tidbit to your knowledge. As far as monuments go, below average. But truly, what were you expecting?

It's a cool large monument to the tribe, and the park its located in also a nice place for a picnic next to the river. Be aware of snakes though, my family came across a 3 ft brown snake by the steps.

A pile of stones in the shape of a mans head. What more can be said? Well, the surrounding park is nice - right on the river.

We came upon the park and saw the monument. It is a really beautiful piece of art. The park is lovely as well, there was a couple getting married the day that we stopped. Nice picnic pavilion right along the river. Large grassy area and playground equipment in a shaded area. Very picturesque area.

this is the kind of park that all kids should have. from picnics to fishing in the river to the play ground it made me want to be a kid again

The Chief Leatherlips monument is an eye catcher. More important is the history behind the name. Worth taking a look at as well as enjoying the nice park with pavilions right behind it.

research history of Chief Leatherlips ~ also interesting story tied to Dublin Memorial Golf Tourney ~ curse of rain due to setting golf course in Wyandot Indian Tribe burial grounds ~

Visited here with my daughters and park is nice. They have a sledding hill in the winter in the park. You can have your kids walk up the back of the monument and stand basically on the top of Leatherlips head for a picture. (It is designed for this). It would be great if the park had a jogging path or bike path along the river. I hear though that Dublin will be doing a big park project all along the river within the next couple of years, so hopefully that will be coming soon.

This was so much fun here. There is a little play area the water behind and just a beautiful view. I had a blast here

Fun little park that's local to us. Has a great picnic area for family gatherings with several shelters. Great play area for kids with swings and plenty of newer climbing items. The water is a great attraction as the river always has an abundance of birds feeding.Parking is good and even in the winter, it's a great place to go sledding. I've not been to any performances there, but the stage is layed out nicely and they even have restrooms here so an afternoon play date with kids is made even easier to do.
