We stayed at Clay's Park for a weekend in October, just a week before they closed for the season. We found the people who work there to be very friendly and helpful. The park itself is very well manicured and clean. During the summer it features a water park and lots of activities for campers. We can understand how they can justify the $50 per night charge for a full service pull through site when all the amenities are available. However, we still paid that higher than average fee for nothing more than the full hookup site which didn't even offer a cable connection. We would recommend that when the water park closes, the operators of Clay's Park dial back their rate to be more in line with the amenities they are able to offer late in the season.

This summer is our first year as seasonal campers and we have had a blast. Your neighbors are like a second family. Fun for all ages plus the feeling that your children are safe.

All of the amenities were a lot of fun! I brought 5 children age 3-10. And they all had a blast from 11-7. I did not like how there was not enough staff to keep the wet Willy slide open all day. They did not open it until 1:00 after we asked at noon. And then closed it from 3-4. The life gaurd and beach staff were all great, however I did have a problem with the check in. There was a woman with short white hair and glasses who took my $90 for admission to the beach and gave me a receipt. It was drizzling and She said there are no rain checks. Security had stopped me because I had proceeded back to the campground to find my cousin who lives there every summer. I was going to tell him we were there,I only see him once a year, usually when we come to the clays park. The security guard asked to see my wristband when all I had was a receipt. The entrance neglected to give me my wristbands! Then over the walkie talkie she's telling security I was headed back to the campers in a station wagon. This was a van. She also called me goofy to the security guard. I showed the guard my receipt and she said beach goers are not allowed to go to the campsites. I was always allowed to go to his camper all the other years we went to the beach. So I asked security if they could knock on his door to tell him I'm there. Nope. So I went back to the entrance and got our wristbands and explained to the worker why I drove straight back to the campers. And asked if she could help by sending someone to let him know we're there or calling. Nope. So needless to say. We enjoyed our visit with the amenities. But not with our family who lives there. Very rude woman at the entrance no help at all. And didn't even give us our wristbands until security noticed! Good thing I saved my receipt. I will be letting my family know who lives there about this problem.

This was our first visit to the park and we had a great time. The kids loved the swimming and fishing and I loved that the bathrooms by the cabins were new and clean. We also visited the restaurant on grounds and had the most pleasurable experience with the staff there. The first night Bill was working by himself and you would have never known the way he bartended, cooked, and tended to all of our needs. He never once complained about all the work. All the customers were satisfied. The next day Bill and Christie were working together and again great service and we really enjoyed talking to them. We had 4 boys and they really looked out for them and us and the whole time they were very nice. The two of them were the icing on the cake for our stay.

We visited Clay's Park for a music festival and it was soooo much fun! Not only did we get to camp all weekend, we also had access to the lake that had slides, ziplining, inflatables and even an indoor pool!Great place to take the kids.

This was our first visit to Clay's Park. We had a great time overall. The staff was friendly at the water park and the rest of the park areas we visited. We stayed in a 'primitive' camp area, and didn't need much assistance, but found that the bathrooms and shower facilities were generally well kept and maintained. I would definitely recommend the park to families who enjoy water parks and camping.

Clay's Park is one huge place! We were there for Midwest Reggae Fest and despite the very rainy weather, I found the grounds to be just fine. It's busy and not a quiet place. But the venues for music were way cool and the entertainment was legendary!! The pine grove camp area was gorgeous. We had a deluxe site for our pop up camper. The one disappointment was that our water hook-up was too far from our site (creekside #1). I only have a 25 foot water hose and needed about 40 feet to get there. That said, we didn't really need the water. I look forward to making Midwest Reggae Fest an annual affair!

We camped here with friends over Memorial Day weekend. The price of the campsites didn't seem too bad, until they told us it was for only 2 people & did not include children. By the time we paid for 2 campsites with 4 adults & then had to pay $14 per night for each of 4 grandchildren we had nearly $600 invested. Most campgrounds (& we have stayed at 50-60 all over the country) either do not charge extra for children, or at least include a couple before they start charging extra. I'll admit that the price of admission here includes quite a lot (water park, kayaks, putt-putt etc), but the children with us ranged in age from 2 1/2 to 7 (they charge full price 2-up) & other than a couple little dips in the swimming hole by the kids, no one in our party used any of those amenities. In addition, we had 22 people show up Sunday for a cook out, & everyone of them were charged $14 to get in. Most of them only stayed 3-4 hours & none of them used the water park. Made for a pretty expensive meal- could have ate at nice restaurant for a lot less. Clays raked in nearly $900 from us & our friends for the weekend, & there just is not anything there worth that kind of money, this ain't Disney World. Not that there is anything wrong with the park, but we have stayed at just as good, or sometimes much nicer parks for a lot less money. It would be much fairer to give people the option of paying ala carte for the water park etc. rather than clobber everyone full price whether they use it or not! There was also a music festival going on on the grounds that weekend. They had security checkpoints at both ends of the campground & you had better have your wristband on, or be prepared to be hassled & treated like an illegal alien trying to get across the border!!! A bit extreme when I was coming back from the beach area with a 4 & 6 year old!To be fair- the campsites were very nice & spacious, plenty large enough to accommodate all our friends that dropped in, & we didn't get any static from the campground about the number of people or cars. (but then again $14 a head....).

My family of four camped here for an entire week and absolutely had a blast! You cant find any camping ground that offers swimming lake, put put golf, FREE bike rentals ,fishing lake, indoor pool, hot tub, restaurant w live music on the weekends...the list goes on!!! I don't know why people think it is overpriced!!! I saw a lot of seasonal campers who looked happy...we were out doing a lot of the activities like walking the trails, biking, we fished, swam, kayaked, and we played sand vollyball!! I CANT WAIT TO COME BACK. We just booked our next visit for.July 12th! Yay :-)

Visited Clay's Park this summer twice. Had a positive visit each time. My kids enjoyed the DJ on Saturday nights, I had a great time at Bingo on Friday. We were put in the Pines area in a pull thru and our seasonal neighbors were very nice even taking us on a tour of the park on their golf cart. Had no problem with noise as security was riding around most of the evening. I later found out it wasn't the camp rangers it was an outside agency they were testing. After 11 all got quiet so they did a great job. Even being 90 minutes away we are planning on signing up to be a seasonal next year. Definitely get your monies worth with all the amenities it has to offer.

My family of 4 stayed at Clay's Park in a tent over Labor Day weekend. Lots to see and do and the beach was awesome. My kids were nuts about all the floats and didn't mind wearing the lifejackets for their safety. The concert was an added bonus that we could hear from our campsite. We always felt safe and encountered no wild drinkers or drugs at all. Quite the opposite, very quiet...back to nature experience. Sad we live out of state but will definitely plan on coming back next year. Thanks !

My friend and I camped for 3 nights over labor day weekend and had a great time. I did not observe any of the activity that the other reviews stated. We did observe families fishing, swimming, picnicking, playing putt-putt, walking their dogs, riding around on golf carts and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We had a beautiful spot overlooking the lake. The people we met from the Ville music festival were all very nice and polite. We did hear the music pretty late on Friday night but I think they handled it because Saturday night we did not hear it after we went to bed. I realize anytime you have a music event with that many people there will be some incidents, but it sounds to me like the security and police took quick action. The store was very handy for ice, firewood, and a few other essentials I had forgot to pack. Thank you Clay's Park for the beautiful environment you maintain, WE WILL BE BACK!
