We have been members of the this establishment for several years, but never campers. This year, despite the condition of the campground, we became campers...based on the vision of the current owner and his plans for the future. The lake and picnic area definitely has NOT gone downhill at all. The grounds are well-manicured and the lake is beautiful. The addition of inflatables has been a good one and the kids love them. In fact, I think The Lake and picnic area is a hidden treasure in the area. It's a wonderful place to picnic after work and enjoy a nice, pleasant family evening. The campground in years past had been unapproachable. We had often desired to camp there, but never even made it all the way through the campground when looking for a possible site. There had not been many rules and, sometimes, those are a good thing! When the new owners came in, we emailed frequently about the improvements/cleaning out of the campground. We finally decided to check it out and were surprised to see the steps that were being taken. This campground didn't get in this condition overnight, and it is a process to get it where the owners would like it to be. We, being new campers, knew up front that it was a process to clean things up, but yet...there is a vision for what it will be. Many, many campsites had been left is disrepair and it was a party spot. Dismantling abandoned campers is not quick work, and I, personally, am happy each time I see one leaving the campground. It is becoming a nice, family campground. Activities are scheduled for every weekend. The game room has been opened and the staff is very friendly. We have no regrets about the deciding to camp here and look forward to what the future holds at the Lake.

This campground/lake has been around a long time. Over the years the old owner has let the place deteriorate and right now it is in pretty rough shape. The ground does have a new owner this year who appears to be committed to cleaning it up and beating it back into shape. Here is an honest review of the current state of the part as of July 2014:The lake:The lake is nice. It's not a pool, it's a lake so don't expect crystal clear water. The beach has nice sand and the grass is nicely kept. The concession stand has good food and there is a game room with a few video games, air hockey, etc. There are multiple diving boards, some stainless steel slides, and an inflatable rock climbing wall. The put-put golf course is about as basic as it can be. The are batting cages work well and there is a playground for the kids. There are also multiple pavilions that can be rented. The price of admission is the lake is very reasonable - $7 for adults and 6 for kids. Children under 3 are free. There are also seasonal lake passes available. Fishing at the lake is actually fairly good (if you can find a spot to fish). The campground:This is where things get rough. The campground is in bad shape and is terribly overpriced in its current state. The roads are in bad shape and the water is not fit to drink and barely even fit to take a shower with (way too much iron). There are almost no level sites available, and many of so slanted you would need to build a ramp or bring in 10 tons of gravel to even have a chance at leveling out your camper. Many sites are very muddy and get water logged when it rains (especially near the lake). The public bathrooms are your average outhouse variety (in decent shape). There are no sites for full hookup, only electric and water. The full timers that reside there are mostly very nice people. The owner had taken great strides to get rid of some many of the problem children that used to plague the park. The sites start at $1200 for the season and that does not include electric which will be metered after this year. If the part was in good shape this wouldn’t’ be a bad price but the truth is that it just isn’t there yet. The daily camping rates are hilariously high - $45 a night. The new owner has promised to improve the situation but only time will tell.

This place is a joke. Don't waste your time or money going there. The pictures u see on line must be some extravagant pictures they found on someone else's website. It is nothing like that! They advertise the huge jungle gyms and rock climbing contraptions and all the have is a four foot slide from the 1800s. The water was so disgusting my kids didn't want to put their feet in it. It is not the clear blue water you see on their website, it is a brownish green death trap. Do yourself a favor. Stay home and water the kids off with a garden hose!
