Interesting history of the house, a bit of a letdown if you've already been to Fallingwater and Kentucky Knob. Nice walk frm the campus to the house.

Part of Oberlin College's Allen Memorial Museum collection this is a wonderful example of one of Wright's home designs. Also includes information on Ellen Johnson, the Oberlin College art history professor who lived here and who, with her New York City artist connections, was instrumental in accumulating the amazing collection of modern art in the Allen Museum. Not to be missed!

This is small, but well worth the visit. The curator was able to put the house in context, and I am grateful that it is being maintained by Oberlin College and open to the public certain Sundays. While this is a small home it appears very livable, and my friend and I agreed that though we do not have the option, if we did we'd choose to live here over Fallingwater.

This usonian FLW house demonstrates many of his ideas. The college has maintained it well, and the docent is knowledgeable and friendly. If you ever wondered what FLW was about this is a great introduction.

We got to see the outside of this Frank Lloyd Wright home, and to peer through the windows. Unfortunately it was not on one of the few days in the month the place is open. Aimed at the middle class, it was unmistakably a Frank Lloyd Wright house.

This house is a fine example of Usonian architecture. There have been some modifications made in the past, but the restoration efforts are very well done. The house is open certain days and seasonally. The college also uses it for special events and some classes.You actually get to sit on the furniture, open cabinets and touch stuff, but you do need to remove your shoes or put on booties.. The docents are very informative and willing to share stories. A must stop for Frank Lloyd Wright fans.

For $5 you can get a 10 minute introduction to the house and then are permitted to walk around, try out furniture, and pretty much touch anything in the home. It's quite different from any other home or museum tour I have experienced. You will be asked to remove your shoes or wear shoe covers. Enjoy your visit!

We visited here a while ago and walked by it again on this recent visit. The home was built for a local family by FLW and later was owned by an Oberlin professor who then gave it to the school. They've done a good job of keeping the house as it was originally built and have tour guides to take you through it. It is a small home and if you are a Wright fan, it's worth a stop to see, though nothing near some of the other larger homes he designed in Oak Park or Chicago.Oberlin College occasionally opens it up to hold an event in and if you're lucky this would be a perfect venue to enjoy a visit.

If you have any interest in architecture or Frank Lloyd Wright, this is definitely worth a visit. The place is operated by Oberlin College and is open only two days per month - the first and third Sundays. The living area is relatively spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms are small. They allow interior photography. This is not my favorite Wright Usonian home, but it's still worth a visit.

My family went on 2 different tours here with 2 different tour guides and got 2 completely different experiences. The house is definitely worth seeing. It's small, but the entrance fee is only $5, and seeing how FLW fit everything into the small footprint is part of the experience.

If you are in the Oberlin area on the one afternoon a month this house is open, it is certainly worth stopping by. But it is probably not worth a special trip. The house is modest by Wright standards and has been modified somewhat over the years from the original design. But it gives you the Wright general style, and a few nice details. The staff gives a nice history of the building over the years. We threw some money in the box when we left, but they were not actively collecting the $5/person entry fee when we visited.Hint: The house is located towards the SouthWest fringe of town, so use your GPS to find it or stop by the Allen Art Museum to get a map.

While not in the most pristine condition it is still definitely a "must-see" for any FLLW fan. My partner and I visited the home with my parents. The house is available for visits on the first and third Sunday from April to December. It is only $5 to tour. Parking is on Morgan Street in on the golf course side. Disregard the no parking signs...the police are aware of the house and it is ok to park on the street. Pictures are allowed. The tours are on the hour and are pretty much done on your own with some docents answering questions when needed. You can tell that some previous owners did a real job on the place. The latest owner did a bunch of restoration to bring it back. Then the house was left to the college and they take care of the house. It is a gem.

We were grateful for the opportunity to see this house, which is not the most pristine example of Wright's architecture, but has had a lot of work done to largely restored. Beautiful long hallway, rather large home, think he said 2100 square feet. Lots of brick and wood typical of the Usonian style. Museum has plans for maintenance and program expansion, lucky for us all.
