There is plenty of space to do whatever floats your boat. We have used our kayaks down the river and also played disc golf. There are some trails for walking, running or bike riding. Dogs are permitted but on a leash only. There are plenty of places and facilities to have a BBQ.

I love this park!! There's a playground for the kids, trails for walking, and year round events at the Carriage House. Wonderful place for everyone.

Don't miss this N Ohio "gem." It's great all four seasons of the year. Hiking, and wildlife observation is always a pleasure. It's a local best keep secret. The river and slate stone out crops are beautiful.

It's a small park in the scenic Vermilion River gorge. A little gem you wouldn't expect to find. The Fall color rivals Vermont

A trip to Vermilion would be incomplete without a visit to Mill Hollow! Though I do have to say that the last visit I noticed the river rock have become covered with slimey brown/green growth that wasn't there when I was a kid growing up, playing in the river. I have many wonderful memories and made more on my return visit, like falling into the river and giving those with me the best laugh they said they'd had in years. I stood and bowed after my graceful exhibition.

This was a very nice park in a neat place in Ohio. Lots of things to do at the park - swings, trails, outdoor activities. It does shut down at at dusk, so leave extra early if you want to spend all day there.

Mill Hollow is very pretty and there's a lot of areas for you to enjoy. There's a beach area and the river is shallow for you to walk through. There's cliffs that are very pretty. There's walking paths through wooded areas. There's picnic areas. It's a very pretty and relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

A great one-day destination for the family, exposing them to nature and fresh air and sunshine! Picnic areas and a playground for the youngest.

Fun events, hiking, walking in the river, and sledding in winter. You can reserve picnic shelters for events and rent the Carriage Barn.

Just and average park nothing special. They used to have a pioneer festival but stopped having it now I go to another county to have my experience.

This has always been one of our favorite parks for all seasons. There are lots of trails, a beautiful river, seasonal activities, gorgeous fall colors, pavilions to rent, play grounds, sledding hill, ice columns on the slate cliffs in the winter, etc. There's plenty of parking and picnic tables. Also, there's a nice community room and a historical house/museum with a Dec. tour that include actors and music.

We went to Winter Days this past Saturdy and had the best time. We learned about dog sled teams, we took a ride on a buckboard, there was a chili cook-off, hot chocolate, ice fishing, and ice carving. As we left we had some of the best pizza EVER from a vendor (Fire and Ice Catering--I think). They baked it there in a wood fire grill. Mmmm...good. We had a fantastic day and can't wait to go again next year!

You can learn the basics about Mill Hollow from the Lorain County Parks website, but here are some of the particular things I've discovered over the last few years in this park: 1. The Christmas re-enactments in the Bacon House with volunteer actors taking you back to the days of the Civil War. 2. Shale cliffs towering above a river that you can wade in or simply sit beside. 3. The hidden paths that lead off the meadow to spots along the river where no one else goes and you can find a place to spend an afternoon reading or dreaming. 4. The myriad of photo opportunities, especially in the fall when the trees create a symphony in yellow, orange and crimson. 5. Woods so full of bluebells in April that it looks like a lake of blue spreading beneath the trees. 6. Frogs croaking beside the boardwalk in the wetlands and owls calling at night. There's more - come out and discover for yourself.

We lived in Vermilion for years, and only found Mill Hollow 15 years ago. We love to hike and explore the paths and the shallow water hiking along the shore of the steep slopes of the winding river with it's several waterfalls (small ones, but beautiful)
