Findley has many camp sites from full hook-up to primitive. You have to reserve early for special occasions. There are also cabins to rend if you don't have your own camping equipment. There are full service showers and port-a-potties throughout the camp grounds. There is a very large lake for activities. You can rent a kayak or a row boat or bring your own. There is a beach for those who enjoy sunning. There is a concession stand on the beach.Fishing is permitted with a fishing license. We went camping and caught our dinner. :)The office of the camp grounds has many games that can be borrowed. They offer movie night with child friendly films; the movie is shown outside. There is a playground, basketball court and other activities. On Sunday, church services are performed in their outside chapel. You can also rent the chapel for weddings or other special occasions. There are countless trails for biking, walking or running. There is also disc golf which is being renovated. There are several picnic areas where you can have family functions or just a couples evening. There are also a few handicap accessible camping sites available.

The trails for hiking at FSP are great. The beautiful pine woods are so serene and a great place to walk and think. If you like to cross country ski, this is the place. The trails are great. Some are for beginners and some can be a little challenging. In the summer, I love to swim. I would not swim at FSP if you paid me. The beach is disgusting and not tended to at all. Don't they have people to take care of things. If they do, it is sad they do not care.

Findley Park is a great place to enjoy the day. You can rent canoes at a great price, which I highly recommend. Canoe rentals are a first come, first serve basis for the summer days that bring everyone out. Also, bring a fishing pole if you want to fish. The beach could use a little TLC, but is still a great place to explore. Watch the sunrise at the beach, the sun shines beautifully through the trees and over the lake. You may even see heron's looking for their next meal. Great place to relax and explore for a day! (Have not stayed overnight within the park)

First, the positive...there are some nice trails at Findley, good for families even. The beach is just...icky. Goose poop everywhere, and it's not tended to. It's a shame because it could be so nice.

We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this park was; especially by the fresh pine and variety of activities. We took a chance based upon several reviews and since it was only an hour and 20 minutes away and wanted to be close to Ashland for a sports camp. The park had lots of families, a nice little camp store where we could rent canoes for 10.00 an hour and lots of summer activities especially for younger kids (Saturday movie night, junior naturalist badges, fishing, etc.) Sites and bathhouses were clean and well maintained and the primitive sites were tucked back in the woods. If you want electric I would suggest the sites at the end around the cul de sac especially 234/235. On the lake trail and private. Good experience we will come back.

Driving through this park is such a peaceful and serene experience. The air smells of fresh pine, and almost every time we drive through at dusk, we see many deer. Wonderful place to picnic, camp, and just lie on a blanket and breathe the fresh air!

Camped here years ago. Always well maintained, nice camp spaces, some with electric, some primitive. Good activities for families with kids. Canoes and kayaks available, swimming as well. Picnic areas throughout the park. We drive through here every chance we get now for taking pictures, seeing campers and looking for wildlife (we always manage to see deer).

“On paper”, Findley State Park looks great with shady tent, RV, cabin and group camping in a former state forest, hiking trails, lake beach and swimming, fishing, boat rentals, picnic areas, disk golf and a mountain bike trail. The camping area includes flush toilets, shower house, playground and ball courts, a small store and a nature center. While this all sounds great there are some significant flaws. Many of the areas are low with poor drainage and well shaded resulting in rather sloppy conditions and abundant insects. During my most recent stay in spring, although it had not rained in over a week, there were many areas of standing water and the ground was quite soft at most of the tent sites. Flush toilets are limited in number and the shower house appears old and worn. Also, the recreational facilities are quite spread out and not easy to get to from the camping area as it is not desirable to walk along the park roads and there are no trails, which tend to be muddy anyways, that directly connect to the beach and marina area; fortunately, there is ample parking at each of the locations as you will probably end up driving to them. However, the biggest problem is that virtually every time I have visited, the beach and swim area have been fouled by Canada geese making swimming impossible in my mind. Also, the lake is relatively shallow, mostly 12 ft deep or less with only a couple of spots touching 20 ft or so, and is prone to algae blooms, probably aided by the goose feces, which seems to have seriously compromised fishing. I know several who had previously fished here for many years and have now given up although one fisherman was having luck catching catfish at the mouth or the boat channel near the marina during my last stay. Despite these issues, I do enjoy shady weekend camping trips here and will certainly be camping here in the future. The disk golf course is fun, the nature center interesting and the staff is great. If swimming and fishing are not on your priority list, chances are you will enjoy a short camping trip here but if they are on your priority list, I would strongly recommend a different park.

Findley State Park has a lot to offer from swimming in the summer, hiking trails all year round and camping all year round. There are plenty of picnic area through out the park. A great place to take the little ones that want to learn how to fish.

Findley State Park is beautiful. We love to go to the park and walk the trails. I used to have my son's birthday parties here. There is a lot to do, fishing, boating, camping, hiking, etc... Again, it is a beautiful park!

Campground: The electric sites fill up but even mid summer there were non electric sites available. They vary wildy in size, the online descriptions are hard to judge. We picked what we thought were two good nonelectric sites but we moved when got there. Office staff was nice. The small park office sells basics and also has board games fo kids to rent for free. Volleyball, playground and disc golf a long walk from campsites but kept up nicely. Bathrooms were very poor. Shower house had tiny showers with no shelves, flush toilets (only 2) didn't flush well. Much more walkable to camp sites were really horrible pit toilets. The water access was "out of order" so the only thing everyone used for dishes was one water fountain meant for drinking. Many site firepits were rusted and broken to pieces. Perhaps news of the condition of the campground has spread b/c there were very few tent campers around. So the only good thing is that we had open campsites on either side of us so it felt very private. Lake Access: Yuck. Goose debris and algea filled lake. I hated to see my kids even wade into it. The beach was more dirt than sand. Again, bathrooms were unpleasant and tiny. I saw some people in rented kayak/canoes who seemed to be enjoying themselves more than the beachgoers. Hiking: Lots of trails. We enjoyed the trail system even though we got lost and followed a trail right off the map. Had to step out of the way for some dirt bikes but other than that it was a nice, quiet easy hike.If you are looking for a last minute camping get away, Findley will serve the purpose but if you have more time to plan, consider looking at parks with better maintained facilities.

I like this place for hiking, because they have a lot of trails which honestly go fairly seemlessly from one to another . Great workout with a lot of different terrain types.
