The museum was a gathering of many interesting things from his movies to his writings. I did not know some of the things he had been part of and it was amazing to learn of all of them.

This is a must see when in Claremore, Oklahoma! Twelve galleries of memorbilia tells the story of the life of Will Rogers, an icon still today!

A wonderful collection of items surrounding the life of Will Rogers, telling of his childhood, early years, and career as the "people's spokesperson" for events of the day. This is a very well done presentation, encompassing Will's life complete with art, posters, newspapers, awards, videos, and collections. It will be easy to spend three to four hours perusing the memorial museum and you will not regret the time spent with this beloved American icon .

Located on a hill overlooking Claremore, is the Will Rogers Memorial Museum ($7 per person admission with discounts for seniors and active Military, and free for children and students) which is open 365 days a year from 10 AM -5 PM.The Museum is well laid out with separate galleries for different areas of his life. Knowledgeable Docents are available and there is a free motorized cart available for visitor's use. What impressed me the most was Will Rogers was many things and you actually can see him in these various roles-as an actor in one of his 71 movies (one film is shown daily in the Mini theater), read some of his newspaper articles or listen to his voice from an old radio broadcast. I really liked watching him perform his one of a kind roping tricks which you can see as part of the continuously running documentary in the main theater or in the Ropin' Fool Gallery just before you enter The Final Journey gallery which tells of Will's death through actual newspaper articles from around the world and has things like the typewriter he used for his newspaper articles that was recovered from the crash site along with an amazing number of other personal possessions. There is a great gift shop and rack of other attractions in the area. The receptionist (a retired music teacher) is a wonderful resource of things to see and do in the area. She told me it was worth my time to also visit the birthplace of Will Rogers (see separate Tripadvisor Reviews) which it was.I spent half a day here which is longer than the average visit but I watched both the film in the mini theater and the lengthy documentary in the main theater. This is not the type of museum to rush through as it is so well done and the more you look, the more fascinating things you see. In warmer weather, you would also want to go outdoors to the sunken garden and tomb. There is also a children's museum downstairs.

Informative and quite nice. I love Will Rogers and so does Claremore. Check it out...you won't be sorry

Museum's web site said museum is open 8-5 daily except closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, with $5 admission fee for adults. I have the page printed out...dated 12/24/14. The only reason we stayed in Claremore was to go to this museum. Arrived at museum first thing in the morning and it was closed! Sign on door said open at 10, with admission fee of $7/adult. We couldn't wait until 10 a.m. due to other obligations. MOST DISAPPOINTED! What a waste...would have never spent the night in Claremore and planned our trip around this MIS-INFORMATION on the museum's web site! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!

Will Rogers was definitely a well-rounded individual. This museum has beautifully captured so many aspects of his life. The layout is absolutely wonderful. There were so many different short films, and interesting tidbits about Mr. Rogers. There is even an area in the basement of the museum for children. The museum staff were very friendly and eager to answer any questions! I could have spent hours here!Museum fees are relatively small compared to some of the big name attractions. Well worth every penny! Enjoy your visit!

This is a lovely museum and tribute to Will Rogers. I am a huge admirer of Will Rogers and went specifically to the area to visit the memorial. Such nice folks work there, and we talked for a long time. The museum itself has many personal effects, informative displays, and of course, movies. (I took a drive over to Oologah afterwards to see Will Rogers’ birth-home as well. The museum staff will gladly direct you.) The Memorial has a lovely gift shop as well, with a good variety of items. Will Rogers’ humor and insight is still as funny and relevant as it was almost 100 years ago. I really enjoyed my visit, and am so glad I went.

I was moved to tears in the diorama room. Truly. How many dioramas can you say that about?Overall, it's a humble, straight-forward museum-memorial-tribute to the legend. Coming from a man who only knows Will Rogers from what he's seen at the American Adventure at EPCOT, this was very eye opening. I wished the movie posters weren't computer reprints, but otherwise, this was a memorable visit, made more memorable by a Will Rogers impersonator and a super-friendly check-in receptionist who will go out of her way to tell you other places to visit in Claremore and Route 66. Pay your respects to Mr Rogers and his family, who are buried here.

An absolute "must see" for Western enthusiasts and an enjoyable venue for everyone else. Beautiful building and grounds. I could have spent hours here and plan to go again next time I'm in Oklahoma. A distinguished memorial to a man who is still "cool" almost 100 years after his prime!

If you are in the area of Claremore, by all means, stop in here. It is a majestic building that looks like a castle high on a hill. The grounds are beautiful and Will and his family are buried in the front of the building. There are a lot of pictures, movies and newsreels, memorabilia and interesting things to learn here. They also offer a nice gift shop with plenty to chose from. Entrance fees are extremely reasonable. Allow at least 2 or 3 hours here depending on how long you want to spend reading all that is offered. They have one room dedicated to the last trip to Alaska and the events that lead up to Will and Wylie Post's fateful plane crash. There is no food or drink at the museum but there are places in the surrounding area for lunch. One such notable and iconic restaurant just around the corner form the museum is the Hammett House. Be sure to order pie - they are famous for it. Downtown Claremore is also fun and interesting to walk around the different local shops.

This is a fitting museum of the life of Will Rogers. A little bit off the highway but worth the trip! Have videos of Will's films and of his rope tricks. A tragic death of 2 great Americans! Don't miss his tomb.We needed more time!

We absolutely liked this museum. Being a history buff and liking Will Rogers. It is a great place to see how he came into the spotlight. Would suggest this museum to anybody traveling near Tulsa.
