ww trading post canoe and kayak

We went on the easy rapids, no falls- 6 mile trip. It was a very good trip for beginners and is very easy to follow. At the pick up place you do have to call them if you get there before pick up time. We had to wait 10-15 minutes for them to come get us. The people working we're very nice. Overall it was an extremely fun trip.

My wife and I were on our anniversary get away and decided to take a canoe trip. After looking on the internet we decided to go to WW trading post. They had several options for trip length and time. We opted for the 4 mile trip. The man at the counter explained where the pick up place was and said they would pick us up at 4:00. We arrived at the pick up spot about 20 minutes early. It is in the middle of nowhere! We waited till 4:20 and no one showed up! We began walking up the dirt road because if they were coming we would run into them. We walked about two miles when we came by the first house. We still were not back to the highway. We reluctantly accepted a ride from the strangers hat lived there who informed us he has picked up there customers several times because they don't show up. When I called them the next day the owner got mad at me because I was upset. He said he had a big group come in early and had sent all his drivers to pick them up. He was completely unconcerned that we had been stranded in the woods. His excuse was that he came at 6:00 and I should have waited. For two hours?!?! DO NOT USE WW TRADING POST!!

The guys took pretty good care of us and the equipment (canoes & kayaks) is more less OK. The 4 mile trip is fun, but I would no recommend for absolute beginners. It is a lot more difficult than shown in the orientation video. The rapids, and rocks in the river makes the journey challenging, and a little nerve breaking if with children or unexperienced participants. The ride takes around 3 hours, without stopping to much; I do recommend 3-3.5 h.Bring waterproof cameras, bag your wallet and phone in a sealed plastic bag. We had people turning over, loosing their iPhones, keys... Not good!The main base does have some stuff for sale, like drinks, sunscreen and water shoes. All at a very reasonable price. But there is no restroom, or changing room; only a shared port-a-potty. All, in all if your wanting a little adventure, this one is pretty good. And the rental company did fine, but could improve their facilities.
