    I am no child or novice so I am going to be as thorough as I can. This was the only Casino offering to permit 18+ gambling and my youngest son turned 19 this year. Last year his birthday was shrouded in tragedy, his bf died suddenly in his arms. It was a heart defect that was undetected. We had no celebration. I wanted this year to be special for him. I asked him and he wanted to go to the Casino in Pocola. I have never been to this place so I thought, okay, let's go. 4 people. Myself, my bf and my son and his friend. I am less than 2 hours away but only 30 min into the drive it started snowing and it just kept getting worse. Turning around would have been just as bad as trudging forward. I had watched the weather closely mind you, I would never have left out in a forecast like that. So... I made it. The casion hotel and one beside it were totally booked. I asked for a courtesy call if a room became available. It did not and I do not fault them on this part, not at all. There were a few motels/hotels within a few miles of the casino, no big deal. We came in and it is well secured and clean, looks very nice, signs everywhere above telling you where things are... laid out pretty well. I am also not a fan of casino's who charge for your drinks. You are spending a small fortune when you go anyway... I think that is gouging. The boys want to take me to a machine they had played before. My son and his friend had been once before. So we left my bf by the tables and left for slots. Slots are tight! Do not attempt the big dollar machines... the smaller you bet, the bigger you win over time, you have to be patient, don't get greedy, that is what they want. All of the slots are computerized and reels set to dispense so much so often.... these are tight. If you still go after reading this, down bet and up bet... never keep it the same and cash out when ahead. When we were ready to eat we at in the Casino at Trophy's. I'll review that but the casino does have excellent food within. The boys, being young, were not ready to leave when we were so I told them I would come back. I didn't know that the snow and freezing rain, sleet had been going on the whole time. I had to get a room while I could. It took me 2 hours to get 4 miles. Will review Guesthouse Inn in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. An oasis. When my son called at 6 am, there was no way I could travel. His phone had gone to almost no charge and he was gonna charge it just a min to google a map to see where I was. While this was happening, not very long, his friend closed his eyes, they had been up spending money all night in the casino. Not drinking. Not loitering. Snowed in. 3 people came up to two clean cut kids and kick the one sleeping and yes my son did ask him what the hell his problem was. I would have also. They were kicked out of the casino. I called the Ft. Smith police and put a bolo out because it was 20 degrees outside and they were in the elements with no vehicle and only in small hoodies. Again, forecast. I called the Casino and was told they would have let them use their phone if they had known and I told him if they had asked if they needed assistance in a southern blizzard before throwing them out they would have told them that. Road conditions were horrible and it was still coming down so visibility was low. They walked 4 miles in those conditions... police couldn't locate them in the weather. I was about to leave and try, if I got in a ditch maybe I would see them and we could at least have the heater. I will NEVER go back and basically just give my money to a place that "cold hearted". I guess when asked if I had my Choctaw card and I said no, that I had my Cherokee Registration card, well my tribe isn't treated as well. I'll just keep going to Cherokee casino or here in AR. Anywhere but Choctaw Casino.

    We came for our first trip to pocola and we absolutely love the casino.we had decided to stay the night and went to grab a bite to eat at gilleys. Everything was fine until we sat down.the waitress took our order however had to go to the back because she didn't know the menu enough. Then after she brought our drinks it was 20 mins before finally the manager brought us refills. We couldn't find anyone inside the casino to bring us drinks so it had been 4 hours since we had anything. That was pathetic. Then our appetizers come out maybe 5 mins before our food. We have a thing about not eating until everyone has there food. Our food comes out and my husband bites into his burger and it's really really raw. Waitress says what would u like me to do have them put it back on grill or make u a new one. I mean really. So we all wait until his food gets there and by that time our food is cold. A good restaurant is important at a place you are staying. We decided not to stay the night. We live the casino they need more waitresses by we saw 1 the whole 8-9 hours we was there. That wasn't good. I would say we will be back but I need to really think on that. There was 4 adults so we spent about 60.00 and none of us drink alcohol so that's a lot to loose. We enjoy going to the casino 5-6 or more times a year. And thought we found a great place close to home.
