The first time we came here it was a fun time despite a few noisey drunks. This time was awful! Everyone had music BLAIRING to the point of you could hardly talk to the person next to you. Then a drunken fight insued between two camp sites that ended up in our campsite. Security and the cops were called. The second night another drunken fight broke out with the same group and security never came, the cops had to be called. The couple next to us were making it VERY obvious they were having sex. When we voiced our concerns to the owner he told us to never come back. They also overcharged us for camping and refused a refund. There were also a drunken group doing donuts in empty campsites and tearing up the grass. Someone went in the girls bathroom and tore the shower handles completely out of the wall as well. The bar and grill stops serving food after Labor Day, so we had to drive into town since we had planned on eating dinner at the resort. We love the Illinois River and will be returning, but definitely to a different "resort".

This place I chose because they had the best website, and had a motel for our stay, because we're not campers. I was expecting a dive, but was pleasantly surprised. Clean room, GREAT staff. Was treated wonderfully by everyone. The float trip was my family's favorite thing we did on our vacation.

Great float! Water was nice, driver very friendly- picked up very quickly -and the price was just right-will do it again for sure!

On a Tuesday, we drove down to Tahlequa for a day trip to go rafting. It was really great because there we not many people on the river. We could stop at anytime and get out to swim. The kids had a great time and the resort personnel were nice and helpful. They have showers at the main office for when you are done to get the river off of you. Next time we come we are bringing our tent to spend the night!

We went camping and floating at Diamonhead over the last weekend in June. The campground is exactly what you would want when you're camping and floating: a campground. Don't expect something more, because you won't get it. But you're also paying a campground to camp. If you want all of the comforts of home, pop a tent in your backyard. The staff was all helpful and friendly, and their security officers were actually really awesome. There were a few fights in the campground the night we stayed (it's a campground on a popular floating river... don't be surprised) and the security guys took care of the issues quickly, with the cops showing up. I like it. It kept drunks from being all over the place, being idiots. Here is my issue- the prices that are on their website are confusing for floating. So, it ended up being well over $100 for three adults and three children in a raft. That certainly isn't what we had calculated from the website. The other thing is that they charge every vehicle that comes in to camp... which is fine. What was crazy is that they added $10 per car for the "band" that was playing at the campground. You don't get a choice in the matter... you HAVE to pay the $10 whether you are going to watch them or not. Being a fan of live music, I gave the "band" a chance. They were downright terrible. What a crock. If I ever go back to Tahlequah, it won't be Diamondhead.Last piece of advice... if you're from out of state, buy beer before you get into Oklahoma. Most beer sold in OK is 3.2% as opposed to 5% or whatever.

We were here for the Medicine Stone music festival. Something that you need to understand about this place that the previous poster was taken back by is that the hotel room is not the attraction of the resort. The rooms are very basic but also were very clean. There is no TV, no Wifi, etc... The staff was very helpful and friendly and they have a nice reasonably priced sore on site that has just about anything you could need. Keep in mind if you want hard liquor you will have to buy it in town before 9pm (Oklahoma Law). The Illinois river is beautiful and it is not far into Tahlequah should you need more creature comforts. The "resort" does have a game/billiard room that I think would benefit their clients to at least offer a TV in there as I hated missing the OU game this weekend. I would recommend maybe bringing something to watch a movie or DVD on if you are not very good at entertaining yourself.

I'm not sure what qualifies this as a 'resort' the people at the reception office were awesome but the bunk house we stayed in was pretty awful. I'd say maybe one step above sleeping in a tent. The beds are super uncomfortable, the carpets were dirty and the water in the bathroom smelled like sulpher so much so none of us showered and could barely brush our teeth as the water smelled so bad.
