OK, I had to admit that I thought Bigfoot wine would be disgusting and just All About the Label. I was wrong. Sangiovese grapes and very nice. Nice enough to buy 4 bottles and ship some to Ohio, where the label would be much appreciated and the wine enjoyed. And the Noble Pig has a Pinot that changed my mind about Pinots in general (not my favorite wine); with a knowledgeable, friendly, and accessible staff. You're not required to suck up your wine through your teeth and talk about the bouquet in pretentious declamation at either tasting room, although I'm sure they'd accommodate you if you were that type of person. You'd have better luck with that at the Barking Frog. Meandering up the main drag of Carlton and sampling wines from a large variety of wineries is a fun and interesting way to spend a lazy afternoon. The town is quaint in the way that so many little burgs in Oregon draw you in; it's hard to go from Point A to Point B in Oregon without stopping to explore. Carlton, and the Valley Emporium, should be on your list!

Popped in here on a whim last week and it was a pretty fun shop. All kinds of different things to look at. And they are really friendly.

Jeff and Val, the owners of Valley Emporium, were really helpful in planning our trip to Oregon Wine Country. Their shop is full of fun, unique, and beautiful things for the home. We took friends by the shop last weekend and had a great time tasting wine from around the world while chatting with Jeff and Val.. Whether your looking for a unique gift or to just browse...this is a must see store. You will find a ton of vintage (affordable) gifts and visit with the owners and have a glass of wine while you stroll through the store. The owners are very friendly, remember you and have such a fun store that you just want to stay for hours. This place is decked out from the floor to the ceiling of great finds, so take your time and enjoy!
