My husband and I had seen a write-up about Equestrian Wine Tours and thought it was something exactly up our alley. Being from the CA Bay Area, we are fortunate to enjoy wine tasting in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys but also rarely pass up an opportunity to go on a trail ride. From a wine tasting standpoint, this was very good. You start off at a beautiful bed and breakfast that is nestled in a gorgeous vineyard. When my husband and I visited, we were fortunate enough to be there during harvest, so as we were getting saddled up we were able to watch the grapes being sorted and washed. Our first stop was at White Rose Estate which had great wines and even better views. The tasting room had a wonderful ambiance. Our second stop would not have been high on my list to visit again, but the wine was not bad. Unfortunately since we were with a large group, we were not able to fit in a 3rd winery during the tour. The horseback riding experience was incredible! I have never owned a horse, but have ridden horses all over california and we usually try to find a good stable when we vacation. This was one of the best rental horse experiences we've ever had. The horses were well groomed, trained and taken care of. They are all Tennessee Walking horses which means the ride is smooth and relaxing. Cannot say enough good things about the ride and especially about Jake, the owner. He made the whole experience fun. If I could change anything it would only be to have a smaller group and have more time with Jake (he wasn't able to stay with us the entire tour, but we were in good hands with the other two guides). When you have a lot of horses and inexperienced riders together there can be some tense moments. If you are curious about horseback riding and wine tasting, this is a great place to try both. Highly Recommend!

For novice and experienced riders alike - what a unique way to experience vineyards. Jake is AWESOME as your trail guide (provides local flavor with hilarious tales!!).Best birthday EVER

My fiance and I had the best time on this wine tour and lunch. We knew we would have a great time- whats not to love about horses and wine?? But we never expected the level of delivery we received in every aspect of this trip. For starters, Jake is hilarious, fun, knowledgeable, and clearly cares about everyone having a great time. His wife Shirley is so sweet and the food she prepared for us was out of this world. The two are a great pair, and the more we spent time with them the more we enjoyed our trip. Shirley even ended up sitting down with us after lunch and we all talked for an hour or so about anything and everything. They are always on your time frame and never rush you to anything or to be anywhere at a certain time, which is a really nice change of pace. Not to mention the horses were so beautiful behaved and clearly well taken care of.This is a tour I would do time and time again. We will be back!

My husband and I and two of our dearest friends have visited many wineries and have been on trail rides dozens of times in our lives. We all recently experienced a marvelous combination of the two pleasures. This was a true highlight of our many vacation trips. Beautiful scenery, fine wines, reliable and beautiful horses, and a very delightful leader in Jake Price. We recommend the entire package. One of the best adventures ever.Miss Enumclaw

My wife and I decided we would go on this tour just because we've never done anything like this before. Early in the morning we were greeted by Jake, who brought us our horses, saddled us up, and got us ready to go. We then went through some of the most beautiful countryside, and saw all the vineyards spread out before us and we could go and play in the vineyards on our horses. Then, the unexpected: Jake treated us to a carriage ride to our next winery, where we were given a sumptuous lunch. My wife and I have numerous food allergies; but these people do not know the meaning of "difficult". The food was amazing. There was nothing we could not eat. It was a feast in an idyllic setting. After lunch we rode over fields, through woods; had wondrous views of the Coast range and of Mts Hood and Jefferson. The horses were well trained, happy, and loved their work. If you ever get to this region, this is the only way to do an Oregon wine tasting. Dr. Eric C. Hubbs, DC, CCST

Jack and his beautiful Tennessee Walking Horses made our trip to wine country complete! Having not had great experiences on horses in the past, I was a little nervous at first but Jack made me feel completely at ease. The ride was a great way to experience the vineyards up close and Jack's humor and stories kept us entertained along the way. Our only regret was spending a little too much time at the first vineyard (our choice) so that we didn't have enough time to visit the third (again, our choice - you can add additional time to your ride if you choose). All in all, a great time - thanks, Jack!

If you like horses and wine tasting, this is the perfect outing. We spent two peaceful hours riding through the Dundee Hills through lovely vineyards and spectacular scenery. During the ride, we stopped at two wineries for tastings. The wines at both of the vineyards were quite good. If you buy a bottle or two, there are saddle bags to hold them. The horses are sweet enough for any level of rider, even a beginner. There are no steep hills, nothing daunting. It's all easy and so much fun. They even have a set of steps to help short riders easily mount and dismount. You can arrange for a picnic lunch or stop at the nearby Red Hills Market, where they have upscale sandwiches, salads and soups. The food there was delicious!

We had such a wonderful happy time riding our Tennessee Walking horses. Our guide, Jake, was truly funny and very caring to make our trip fun and safe. They paired us well with horsesthat suited our riding ability. He took us to 3 wineries which you could stop at or not. Jake wasvery flexible with our schedules. We would have never seen the views he shared with us, andit was truly the most memorable experience of our lives. I have taken a lot of horse rides invarious places including our National Parks-----but this is truly the BEST!!! I will be going againon my next visit.

If you want to truly enjoy your time in Wine Country then you have to book a ride with Equestrian Wine Tours. All of the staff are awesome and will ensure you have a great time. Jake and Sarah both are excellent and will ensure you have some super memories. No matter if you are a first time rider or somewhat experienced, this is the tour for you. The horses are well trained and well cared for - not the old trail horses that many places have. They make sure you are comfortable and get to experience the beautiful area in a unique way. No trip to the wine country should be made without setting up a ride - you will not regret it!!

Our group tried Equestrian Wine Tours based on the high ratings from other Trip Advisor reviewers. And like the other reviewers, we had a fantastic time. We had riders of different levels and everyone was comfortable, happy, and excited to spend a couple of hours riding across fields, between rows of grape vines, and down country roads. The Tennessee Walking horses are very well behaved and many are rescues that owner Jake Price has lovingly restored to full health and given a wonderful job. We want to do it again next year. Jessica was our guide and was just terrific. Jake is a real entertainer and made us all laugh - a lot. The Mediterranean-style lunch was great, made by Jake's wife, and served with nice touches like sterling silver utensils and cloth napkins. We also very much enjoyed our stop at Wintner's Hill winery which served some of our favorite wines of the tasting weekend. See you next year Jake, Gracie, Chipper, Buddy, and Rave.

Jake and his beautiful horses were pure joy. We loved our ride through the vineyards of Dundee Hills while we tasted at a few wineries. Jake entertained us with his stories and all his special touches, ending with a gourmet picnic in a gazebo. This tour was the highlight of our trip! Jake, you rock, on and off the horse!

Man, I really want to give this experience five dots, but the three wineries we visited were just a bit of a letdown. The horses were super well trained and easy to ride (I haven't been on a horse in 25 years or more) and our guide, Sarah, was super cool and knowledgeable about wine in general and the area we were riding in. We visited Winter's Hill, Vista Hills and Armonia for tastings. I wasn't really impressed with anything at any of them and we only ended up purchasing a bottle of dessert wine (it was a "guest bottle", actually, not even done by the winery we bought it at) to go. We went with the lunch option and are glad we did. Maybe a bit pricey, but it was really nice to just sit and relax with a glass of the Armonia pinot gris and look out over the rolling hills snacking on fruit, cheese and sausage-- even though the cheese and sausage were just basic, pre-sliced grocery store stuff. Jake, the owner of the horses we rode, also prepared the lunch. Or maybe his wife did. I forget. Anyway, we chatted with him for a while afterwards. He's quite a character.

My husband and I actually have Tennessee Walking Horses so we had been wanting to do this. We had some friends visiting who also ride , so it was the perfect opportunity. We had a great time! The horses were well mannered, and boy there is nothing like gaiting through the vineyards! The scenery was amazing, at one point the vineyards were in the foreground, the valley below spanned out before you and you could see Mount Hood in the distance, breathtaking, .and the wine...sigh...wonderful. We bought a bottle of Pinot Gris on our way and had the picnic lunch after. A delicious way to relax after the ride.
