We visited White Rose Estate as part of our Backroads Wine Tour. This was not only a beautiful estate and vineyard with spectacular views. But the wines were incredible. Big bold. I can't wait for my purchases to arrive at my home across the country from this spectacular place. Our server was super friendly and she gave us a lot of history and information on the wines and estate. We were also lucky enough to be in the tasting room at the perfect time to meet Jesus the wine maker who stepped in for a minute and we were able to ask additional questions and get a couple of pictures. If planing on hitting some tasting rooms I would suggest taking a tour for many reasons. The guides know the area, know the wineries and operators and can get you to multiple wineries with out you having to search and try to follow a GPS. Oh. And the biggest reason. Drinking all day. ( call jack at Backroads wine tours for an awesome day). Make sure he brings you to White Rose Estate. You will not be disappointed.

If you're looking for superb wine (award winning Pinot Noir to be exact) and the most stunning view in the Willamette Valley do not miss White Rose Estate. Not only is it beautifully landscaped, It sit's high on a hill with a view of Mount Hood, Mount Jefferson and on a clear day even Mount Saint Helen. One of the smaller winery's in the Valley it is cozy and warm and they make great Espresso with an imported Italian coffee press. Treat yourself to a visit to this truly unique winery. Love their wines and the very informative servers. Joined their club and brought some bottle back to Hawaii to enjoy. A must stop if you're into Pinot Noirs.

it is a small winery. The tasting room is dark but the friendly service makes up for it. It is a limited production winery but what they do make is superb and one of the best in the area. This is not a winery to simply due to their quality of wines.

We put White Rose first on our list because we bought a case of pinot noir here two years ago after having such an excellent tasting experience. It was the best wine of six tasting rooms we visited that year. We remember warm and friendly servers. The tasting room is located in one of the most beautiful vantage points in the AVA. Unfortunately, this year's experience didn't come close to our previous experience: instead of friendly, conversational servers, we were ignored and then served by by a solemn and snobby young man. The wine pours were all from 2011, not the best year for pinot noir, but I suppose no matter, these were very good. (Why no 2012's though?) My husband ordered some wine bottles and attempted to make conversation by explaining we were probably in the data base because we had ordered before. The young man who poured for us could have cared less. "Oh? We don't use that here; you need to fill out this form," he said without any hint of appreciation that we were spending money and repeat customers. With such a beautiful and carefully planned estate, it's a puzzle why the company employs servers who project a superior attitude. It's grapes people!! With so many great wineries in the area, we've crossed them off future tasting lists.

What a terrific experience and the tasting room was the most interesting of all the vineyards we visited in three days time. It's worth the stop. I had never heard of this winery but it was one of the best stops of the trip.

The landscaping is really something to see - quite beautiful. And the views are stunning. The tasting was all pinots - very nice. The staff are knowledgeable. We enjoyed speaking with Neal and learning more about the wines in the area.

I loved the view and grounds at White Rose. Truly amazing and meticulously kept. Really special. The tasting room is very dark, with all black paint and no windows to see the view - not my personal style but well done. Good wine but ridiculously priced. Their obsession with trying to convert the taster to a neoclassical style comes at the expense of anyone who likes new world or fruit forward wines. Glad I stopped for the view alone though.

We loved the wines here and splurged on the tastings. Small wood paneled tasting room, and quiet personal attention. What really impresses, other than the wine, is the location and grounds outside. Beautifully landscaped and view is terrific. Only reason not 5 stars for us is the $20 tasting fee.

Loved every part of our experience--amazing attention to all the details. Excellent wine, our new favorite, great tour and very kind and attentive staff. Can't wait to return.

At $15, the wine tasting fee is too much for two tastes of middle of the road and one very fine Pinot. The first was made from grapes sourced elsewhere. The second came from its own property. Both were okay, but not especially interesting. The third, based on grapes sourced from Anderson Family Vineyards, was excellent, but with a price of $80, grossly overpriced. The building, without windows, reminded me of a sweat lodge, dark inside on a beautiful, sunny Oregon afternoon. The redeeming factor was the friendly pour staff. Still, I doubt I'll visit again.

Quite possibly the best view in the Willamette Valley and a very interesting (think steampunk) tasting room. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends.We're not really sure they even grow their own grapes but they'll sure tell you about their wine. Wine is not cheap AND they don't refund your tasting fee with the purchase of a $68 bottle of wine.Go for the view; go somewhere else for a good tasting experience.

Given the wine tasting fees in Oregon ($10-20) it is very disappointing to waste precious vacation time and dollars on subpar wineries. White Rose Estate charges $15 for tasting 3 wines and the wines are average at best and certainly not worthy of the price tag of $50-$60 per bottle they were offering at the winery. The best thing about the winery was the view but you have to leave the windowless attic style tasting room actually enjoy the valley below. Having touring wineries on 3 continents I think Oregon wineries charging fees are short-sighted because it make me less likely to try the variety of wineries in the area. Sadly I probably will miss some amazing wines but spending $60 dollars do tasting at less than four wineries before I even buy a bottle makes me a wary consumer instead of the wine explorer I want to be.

The young woman chemist who poured the wine made our visit exceptional. She should write a book! The setting, near The Wine Country Farm B & B, my new favorite place to visit, is gorgeous.

We visited this winery at the suggested of the server at Vista Hills winery. The reds here were quick good. And the view was great! The server was so nice and explained everything really well.
