We don't recall seeing this tasting room last time we were in Carlton - too bad because it's a gem. Disclaimer, my husband and I really aren't fans of bubbly or sparkling wines. However, we bought both their Sparking Pinot Gris and Muller Thurgau. As I have mentioned in other reviews, we really like Muller Thurgau but had never tasted a sparkling version. Their's is truly amazing. We enjoyed all of their wines and had a difficult time narrowing down our options for purchase.Their wines are all reasonably priced - I'd say priced better than many in the area and for the quality they could charge more, though I'm glad they don't. It made it way too easy for us to buy more of their wine because it didn't break the bank. The tasting room manager was an absolute delight and so knowledgeable about their wines and the area. She made our tasting experience so worthwhile and we look forward to making a point of visiting their winery in Gaston. If you're in Carlton, make a point of stopping here.

We like to start our wine tasting days with bubbly and Kramer was perfect. We were lucky to arrive when Keith and Kim were bottling the bubbly so we got to watch. The wine was very good, everyone was friendly and enthusiastic.

What a beautiful view. We wine tasted here and had the opportunity to sit on the patio. We purchased a food package and had the best cheese and crackers with the wine. The wine tasting fee is waived when you purchase wine.

This place is beautiful, has amazing wine tasting, and is ran by a lovely family. We purchased the sparkling wines that went great with desert. They also have a lovely area where you could have a picnic and are dog friendly.

Kramer is just a bit further along the same country road as the much larger Elk Cove Vineyards and despite several visits to Elk Cove over the past year, we'd never continued on to Kramer. But when another winery's tasting room hostess recommended it as one of the best of Yamhill County last weekend, we couldn't resist, and were very glad we finally visited. The tasting room is intimate but very welcoming and the two hostesses were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. And the wine was as good as it gets anywhere in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, and that's saying quite a bit. I especially enjoyed their sparkling wine - truly outstanding with just the right balance of sweetness and refreshing tartness and wonderful, tiny bubbles. My wife and I enjoyed it so much we joined their club despite our vows not to participate in any more than we were already in. The requisite winery dogs were well-behaved and personable, too. There is a nice little patio outside for picnics or more leisurely enjoyment of a glass of wine, and they have a small menu of picnic foods available for purchase. Highly recommended.

I have found Kramer's family atmosphere to be an amazing place to enjoy some very wonderful and subtle wines. I love the fact that they are not presumptuous with their knowledge but if you ask they can explain it all to you. Perhaps the saddest part of all is that the gift shop has been downsized to fewer items but you go there for the wine not the toys.

We created our own wine tour along Highway 47; for the full review, go to Snootful(dot)Blogspot(dot)com.Kramer Vineyards had an intimate tasting room, and were clearly a popular stop. This was the only tasting room where we didn't have it to ourselves. The hubs wanted to stop here on the hopes of finding a local source for sparkling wines. This was our most extensive tasting, and one I'd recommend if you like whites. The 2009 Brut was nice and dry with a hint of lemon. Very crisp. We bought 2 bottles. The Celebrate Muller-Thurgau was ok, but the non-sparkling version was better in my opinion, and at only $10 a bottle, hard to beat. The 2009 Pinot Gris was ok, not very complex, but drinkable. The 2007 Chard Barrel Select was good for a chardonnay (I'm not normally a fan). The 2007 Estate Pinot Noir was very light, drinkable, not at all complex. We like ours to have more body. The 2007 Cardiac Hill Pinot Noir was a bit of a disappointment after learning about how and where it's planted (the steepest block in the vineyard). Perhaps with a few more years of vine development, this one will show better. The 2009 Barberra Walla Walla (locally produced in an Italian style with grapes from central Washington) was very nice, with hints of smoke. We bought a bottle of this. The 2008 Pinot Noir Port was very good, and would really highlight a rich, chocolate dessert. We bought a bottle of this. At $12/bottle, I also had to inquire about the Quad Rose. As a good brunch wine offering, we bought one bottle.Staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating.

We went with a large group and everyone left disappointed in their wines. I wish I could describe one to try but of the 7 we were offered, nothing fit my pallet (which is odd since I'm a huge wino). In addition, they have 2 dogs which they keep in the tasting area. One of the dogs was licking one of the tables in the tasting areas which really makes me concerned for sanitary purposes of this vineyard.

This past weekend we visited the tasting room at Kramer Vineyards. There was a varied selection of reasonably priced and delicious wines, and a tasting room that was staffed with individuals that were knowledgable and excited to talk about the wines that were on the tasting menu that day. There is a great gift shop at the tasting room, and a lovely shaded picnic area right outside if you decide to bring a picnic lunch. I highly recommend making the drive into Gaston and spending some time at Kramer Vineyards. You will be glad that you did, and I have no doubt that you will pick up at least a couple of great bottles of wine to enjoy at home.

I went to Kramer Vineyards today with my Mother and my Fiance to try the wines and look at them as a possible venue for our wedding. Kim Kramer was our amazing hostess and I was so thrilled with how she explained everything to us. The prices are beyond reasonable and the tasting fee is very low. I am not an expert on wine, but do enjoy it and like wine tasting. I have never had someone put so much into explainging the wines and it was obvious how much she loves it. They are at the top of the list on our wedding venue search.
