We camped here while on our trip to and back from Alaska. We got the last available site so was only able to stay one night. There was a babbling brook coming down off the mountain so it was quiet relaxing. It was busy that week because it was Chief Joseph week in town with all types of cowboy stuff to do. One day there was a horse stampede down the main street. When we arrived I could not figure out why there were so many cars and trucks in town. Our site was very nice. The tramway to the top of the mountain was close by...

We have stayed at this campground a few times over the years and every time we camp here it has been a awesome experience. There are many attractions close by within walking distance. The 25 minute gondola ride to the top of the mountain is amazing with a great restaurant at the top of the mountain. There are so many things to see and do in the area even though we stay there a week at a time it is very difficult to enjoy everything the area has to offer. I reserve our campsite 9 months in advance to the day. This area is one of Oregon's more popular attractions and I can see why. If you choose to visit this area I would recommend to make your reservations as early as possible. You won't be disappointed.

We did not stay in the park, however, our children have camped there and have enjoyed all the amenities and activities in and around the park. We did hike in the area and found that it a place we would like to return.

This park is wonderful. Have camped there in May. Went to take a look in August and it was a mob scene. But that is only because it offers such wonderful camping and recreation. The lodge is first rate and was featured on a National Geographic special about park lodges. Any time of the year is a good time to take a look when in the area. The alpine Wallowa Mountains are wonderful.

Willowa Lake State Park is a very nice and clean park. But the campsites are very close together and there is almost no brush or shrubs between campsites. There are some very good tent sites but on the full hookup sites, not much room between sites. Best to go there with a tent and not a trailer and the tent sites are the best. The state does a good job in keeping it clean and safe but if they had just put more room between sites, it would have given folks a more relaxed and private experience.

This State Park is a mix of great sites and way-too-close sites. It would be best to have someone recommend which ones to use before reserving. Next to the hill there are sites with a little creek running. Wonderful for kids! There is so much to do at Wallowa Lake. Go and enjoy!

We were a little early so didn't get full effect of the celebration. It was windy at the Lake and was raining a little. We didn't bring heavy enough jackets and got a little chilled. Would have liked to have seen more vendors at the festival.

The park is large and beautiful, but very boggy to walk from the marina to the lake's beach. A cool dip was a must, but I didn't wear my water shoes and the stones hurt. Nice little shop there for necessities.

This park is located at the North end of Wallowa lake. It has many camp sites to offer, some are for tent camping and others offer full hook up for water and power. The sites are managed well by the park staff and are all very clean. Pets are welcome. The resident deer are not afraid to join you for breakfast. We had a nice buck stop by to see what we were having. This is mentioned so that if you go, be sure to keep your apples well out of reach of the bucks. They know how to open coolers !

Lovely and clean state park with loads of camping spots and even two yurts. Great spot for "base camp" while enjoying the Wallowa Lake area. (We miss Todd, though.)

Beautiful but busy state park located at end of Wallowa lake with a marina included. In addition there is a lodge and convenience store located adjacent to the park

We loved visiting the lake an strolling along the stream feeding it. At summer's end we saw hundreds of bright orange and red Kokanee salmon at the end of their lives feeding and spawning. The campground is very crowded, and there are a lot of restaurants, shops and stores so close to the campground that it feels more urban than rural.

Loved this area as much as I did 20 years ago! The campground is clean and well run, despite being so large. We got a ton of wood for $5! We even shared some with our neighbor, who left us a book he had written in the morning. We were the first ones on the tramway at 9am. We hiked around the top for an hour or so, then ate at the restaurant at the top. The prices were actually reasonable, though my daughter reminded me that we paid quite a bit to board the tramway! We drove to the Hell's Canyon overlook, though I wish we had braved the dirt road to Hat Point. Joseph is a wonderful town to explore.

Completely free, and right down town in Joseph, a quick trip to this lovely center will prepare the entire family for your exploration of the natural wonders that surround you. Expert volunteers that have worked and lived in the surrounding valley have put their heart and soul into sharing their knowledge; and making it really kid friendly with hands on workshops.

Really nice and clean state park. No day fee, and there are boat rentals for a fair price. Good parking.
