Nice people there showed us around. There were good exhibits, both temporary and permanent. No fee but contributions welcome I think.

The Wallowa Valley is well off the beaten track but has been discovered a bit by a thriving arts community. Those that really gave birth to that have formed the Josephy Center which is a gallery/museum/teaching place for the arts. It is in a pretty modern ex-bank building that is quite attractive. The docents are helpful and friendly and the exhibits change. Plus they sent us to a great local coffee/tea shop in the area. Really glad we stopped. When in the valley you can see why the Nez Pearce were so pissed about getting kicked out! The sort of place you want to figure out how you could stay and live there.
