There is no view, no outdoor seating and no classical guitarist on alternate thursdays; there's Steve and his wine and that's as it should be. The tiny tasting room, tucked behind a gas station on Hwy 62 in Shady Cove, might be tricky to spot, but you will be astounded at the number of varietals, most estate grown, on hand to taste. Try his 100% Mourvedre or 100% Teroldego (that's not one you often see in the US) and keep in mind this is all the product of one guy (and his wife, Mary, of course). This is one of the few opportunities to talk with the winemaker and not a sales person. Ask questions. Steve is easy to talk with and won't make you dizzy with wine-speak.
