walker lake golf course

While driving through the desert I discovered this very cool 9-hole golf course just north of the town of Hawthorne. It's located on a military facility but is open to the public. Nice layout, well maintained and pretty challenging. Striking views of the mountain range that lies to the west. The green fees are very reasonable and on the day I played there were few golfers on the course. If you are in the area and want to play a quick nine it is definitely worth the stop.
