We liked having an area especially set aside to go out to and look for wildlife. The area is easy to reach and is quiet for wildlife viewing.

This venue is only open on weekends Labor Day thru Memorial Day - it is closed in the summer months. It is a true oasis with a large lovely palm trees and a running stream where you will find an eye level viewing area of the stream and the Moapa Dace. There is a nice picnic area to enjoy your lunch on site, smooth walkways and restrooms there. Its amazing to be able to see these little fish so easily. Most people have heard of the Devil's Hole Pupfish but even if you go to Ash Meadows you will not see those particular pupfish as they are in Devil's Hole with no access to view for the public - you can see the hole, though there are other small fish species out there in the pools so that is also worth a visit. The Moapa Dace are located approximately 60 miles north of Las Vegas so take a trip and see these rare little fish in the only place they call home. Its a great place for birders to visit too.
