从emerald bay 往前走一小段的一条500米长的trail,可以下到半山处看到瀑布,冬天路滑要小心,貌似是我们在tahoe环湖过程中唯一有个正式名字的小瀑布

I vacation to Lake Tahoe every year for some much-needed R&R time, usually solo since I can really relax and recharge that way.For years, I have been doing the "drive around the lake" and have always stopped at Emerald Bay to take in the magnificent views offered there. On this trip, I pulled over at the Eagle Falls Trailhead stop and took a short hike, and after having done so, I can now say this is my new favorite spot at the Lake.Hiking uphill, you'll enter the gateway to the desolation wilderness, but if you cross the highway and hike downhill, you'll be treated to the most spectacular view of the Lake you can imagine. I was lucky enough to be there on a day when the temperatures were in the mid-60s yet with still snow on the mountain. I had my bags with me in the car, and after finding this hidden gem, I went back to the car to grab my Kindle and a sandwich and sat literally three feet from the falls on a rock and read a book in the tranquility for hours. There are restroom facilities available during the summer months near the parking area, and signs advise that a day use fee applies during this time, but it doesn't seem to apply during the winter months.

I did this hike with my friend on December 2014. Initially we only knew about Eagles falls. The falls dis not have much water flow when we visited. When we reach the bridge in front of the falls, people coming down from the lake inspired us to visit the lake. The trail was full of solid ice and people were falling down. I would rate it as moderate hiking. You might want to stop a couple of places for resting during hiking uphill. The lake was completely frozen. Some teens went to middle of the lake and suddenly they started running towards the boarder after seeing a crack. It was my experience of a frozen lake. I'd love hike on this trail again on early summer.

This is the greatest hike - from Eagle Falls trailhead to Eagle Lake. Gorgeous views and fun hike. Small fee at entrance.

This would be an excellent hike in the spring. By Fall there is not enough water to know it is a falls. We had to look at the sign. Certainly the landscape is worth while. Go on past to the Lake and you will not be disappointed

Eagle Falls is right across the street from Emerald Bay. The trail is well groomed (but it is a bit of a climb for those who aren't in the best of health). It's a beautiful hike to Eagle Falls and then on to Eagle Lake. Don't forget your water and picnic, you'll want to spend some time enjoying the magnificent views. I've hiked this trail numerous times and each time I feel overwhelmed at the beauty.

What a great view of Mrs. Knight's Tea House. The lake was so calm and clear the day we were there. Great sights!

Nice little hike into the falls or for a quicker view you can drive and park right at it. The falls are very pretty and just listening to the rush alone drowns out the surrounding noise. Worth a trip

We thought the falls were just ok. Definitely worth a stop and picture taking, but take the hike up to the lake and that was much more rewarding and beautiful! Parking will be scarce on the weekends.

The view alone is worth the drive. We walked down to the shallow pools and got an up-close view of the falls cascading into Emerald Bay. A must see in Tahoe.

Eagle falls is as beautiful today as it was 30 years ago...the hike to the upper falls is steep but the trail is good and it is not long. You can continue on to Eagle lake which is a beautiful picnic spot. For the more adventures you can keep going up into the desolation wilderness. A nice view of the lower falls is just a walk across the HWY from the parking area...well worth a visit and a gorgeous view of Emerald bay. From the same paeking area you can hike down to vikingsholm and the cove at emerald bay.

the falls are dry now but the 30 minutes hike in the round way is nice view of lake tahoe from above. there is a sign that says you shold pay for parking but there is nowhere to do that. there is not much parking so you should wait for someone else to leave.

I highly recommend the Eagle Lake hike to almost everyone. My 8 year old daughter completed it with ease. It is moderately taxing. There are some difficult uphill parts on this 2 mile roundtrip but the trail is clearly marked. The trip up will seem longer than detailed on hiking guides. It is well worth it. The views are stunning. My 11 year old brought her swim suit and swam in the crystal clear Eagle Lake. My advice is too get there early to bear the crowds and get a parking space. It gets very busy in the summer. There is parking at the trailhead (bring $6) but it fills quickly. If the sparking lot is full and street is too you can park at the lot above Vikingsholm ($10). I recommend getting there 9-9:30 AM during the peak summer for a chance to park.

It is not easiest hike if you don't hike much, but the 45 min is worth it!! Absolutely beautiful! We brought sandwiches with us and Eagle Lake was the perfect lunch spot.
