north platte valley museum

The day we went to this museum they were having an open house. People were everywhere demonstrating old fashioned skills and talking to you about each thing. We spent about 2 hours there just walking around. This place has a lot of fun things to look at. We got lucky with the open house day which made it more special but this place would be fun anytime. I recommend this place to get some history about Nebraska.

Lots of things to see, great artwork on the walls as well.

Stopped by the museum before I went to the monument. Interesting collection of artifacts displaying the history of the area. Huge collection of Indian arrowheads, as well as a furnished cabin and a furnished sod house from the 1800s. The volunteers there were very welcoming and a pleasure to chat with. I recommend a visit here.
