They have a nice collection including some made by companies from the 1920's that I never knew existed. We also enjoyed the ones that reminded us our own teens early adulthood.

I went to see the museum because it was a stop on the 2014 Passport Program for Nebraska Tourism. I was pleasantly surprised with the immaculately clean and wonderful collection of classic cars! I am not even a car enthusiast but I really enjoyed this museum! The 50's section brought back a few memories of family cars! This museum is really worth a couple hours of your time.

This is a tremendous collection, both in terms of raw material and exceptional presentation. The pavilion showcases 200 cars, most of them immaculately preserved or masterfully restored. There are more than a few masterpieces, including a row of 1957 Chevrolets and several Rolls Royces. Every car has extensive notes detailing its rarity - or ubiquity - and its role in the automotive landscape. These helpful texts provide a great education for a casual observer like me, and are probably helpful for even the most extreme gearheads. Along with the true classics, the tourist will also see some intriguing oddities. These include a Mini Cooper pickup truck (which is exactly as ridiculous as you might think), Evel Knievel's 1974 custom Cadillac Pickup, and an intriguing "before and after" restoration example of a 1956 Ford Crown Victoria. You'll easily spend hours here if you're paying attention at all.

The Classic Car Collection in Kearney should be on everyone’s to-do list when traveling in central Nebraska. We stopped in on a whim during our trip to western Nebraska. We saw the first few cars in the lobby, including a 1965 Corvette Stingray, and decided to check it out. Man, was that a good idea!We spent a little more than an hour perusing the classic cars on display – from the early days of the automobile to the 1990s.Any car enthusiast would be in high heaven at this place. I don’t claim to be a car expert or even close to an enthusiast. But, I do know if that a car interests me, I will check it out. It got to the point during our visit that I had to just admire a car and move on. I found myself wanting to read about every car. I fear we’d still be there in that case. How did Kearney become the home to a collection of more than 150 cars? Apparently, the owner of the collection was growing older and wanted to find a good home for the cars. His children were not interested in keeping the entire collection. Bernie and Janice Taulborg were against selling off the collection piece by piece. So, they decided to donate the cars to a museum. Eventually, the Kearney Area Community Foundation became involved, according to an article in the Kearney Hub newspaper (www.kearneyhub.com).The museum has 131 cars currently on display. The cars are organized so the tour flows smoothly and makes sense. You don’t see the 1932 Austin American Coupe next to the 1992 Gazelle Roadster.A blue Ford Thunderbird is located in the lobby. Nice car!The collection seems to be arranged chronologically, as well as by theme. As you enter the museum gallery, you can view the truly antique cars. It’s impressive that these cars have been so well-maintained over the years. The museum has a vehicle that once belonged to Evel Kneivel, the daredevil motorcyclist. The museum uses great artwork as background for the vehicle displays. Two vehicles of the same model sit next to each in a “before and after” display.Large-sized photographs of building fronts highlight vehicles of the era.A gas station features a mechanic working on a car, while others are parked nearby.Anyone remember going to the drive-in? “Attack of the Fifty-Foot Woman” was on screen as we visited the museum’s drive-in.The ticket booth was removed from a local drive-in after being damaged in a storm.I had to look around for Doc Brown and Marty McFly as we approached a DeLorean. The Classic Car Collection is located along next the Cabela’s store on Highway 30, AKA Lincoln Highway.

If you like old cars you will love this very high quality Museum. I recently took family members from outside Kearney to see this and what started as a 30 minutes stop quickly lasted a couple hours. To read all of the stories about most of the collection is fascinating. I found a Buick Touring Car that must have been what my father always talked about his family driving when in 1919 they camped all across the western United States going to State of Washington along the Lincoln Highway. If you love cars or just like history you will love this place!

Possibly the best car collection in Nebraska. Bring your Nebraska passport for a better price rate. The cars are in excellent condition and the facility is easy to walk through

We went to Classic Car Collection during the July 4th weekend, and it is located in a building right next to Cabela's. My family had such a great time here! It is such a clean building with the best collection I have ever seen. It has such a variety of cars and made for a great conversation! It is not expensive, and it is worth every penny of the admission. I would like to say thank you to the family who donated so many cars, and a big thank you to others that have cars there on loan for people to enjoy! You got to go and see this cool collection!

Oh my gosh, this was fun! (and I am not really into cars - I just want them to GO when I need them). But this was a really neat place to stop, and the cleanest, coolest collection of cars I have ever seen. These classic automobiles had true style, the colors were so vibrant, it was like stepping onto a dealership floor years ago. Took us about an hour to walk through this fabulous collection and well worth it. If you are into cars at all you will LOVE it. If you are not into cars.... you will LOVE it! Very sad though --- I totally fell in love with this really cool Jeepster, and hubby just smiled and firmly said "NO" (sigh). Our vehicles today are so BORING compared to these! No wonder America had a love affair with the automobile!

We had some time to look around while in town for a wedding. This was our first stop and we were very impressed with the collection. The museum and cars were spotless. It was nice that Cabela's was next door.

This was a surprise. What a collection of cars, very well displayed and my sons and I had a great time taking pictures and talking about the cars. Worth the price of admission.
