standing sun wines

Was hoping John and Laura would have been there but the lady pouring was extremely nice and helpful!! GREAT COFFEE!!!

we really enjoyed visiting this tasting room. The women working in there were very friendly and helpful. They also gave us a great tip on a place for lunch in Buellton. We bought a bottle of Grenache blanc but didn't really care for the Reds. It could have been because she just opened the bottle and they didn't have time to breathe.

We were on a cycling vacation and he is not much of a drinker so I had not had the opportunity to taste much wine on this trip. HOWEVER, since it was my birthday and we had two hours till our reservation at the Hitching Post for dinner, we went to the Standing Sun tasting room. We are both on the shy side but Christine greeted us so warmly she made us feel immediately at ease. If you are headed to Buellton, go say "Hi!' to Christine at Standing Sun wines and you will have a great time. She grew up in the area and will recommend her favorite places. If you do not normally drink white wine, TRY THEIR WHITES! You will be pleasantly surprised and probably leave with a few bottles just as we did.

A must stop if you are in the area looking for a good and very friendly winery. Totally enjoyed the tasting and bought some bottles too. Check out the nights they have live music.
