prado regional park

Would avoid staying here! The ants are in the millions. We lost lots of food. They charge extra for everything! Kids, dogs, showers, fishing-all ages plus you still have to have a Ca fishing license! The playground is a mile or more from the campgrounds! There is nothing for the kids in the campgrounds even though there is plenty of space to put one. Also no military discount which the county should be ashamed of! I will never come here again! Too pricey to live with ants!

We just got here yesterday to camp for 2 nights. At first we thought that this place was a nice green oasis but soon discovered skunks and tiny ants like it here too. We encountered more than 1 skunk last night when we were out walking the dog. Later we discovered tiny ants making their way into our camper. It was dark already so we couldn't find the source under the concrete picnic table until this morning. A park employee has since admitted that this has been an ongoing problem for at least a year. Apparently they spray for bugs but it's obvious that no one cleans up what's left under the picnic table that attracts them in the first place. No one warned us that the sprinklers come on at night so my husband & our chair got soaked last night. This "oasis" has turned into a nightmare!

This is our second time here this year. We brought our 3 year grandson, he loves it. The campground is beautiful with lots of space between site, fire ring and plenty of trees. Park is well kept with great views of lake. My only complaint is people drive too fast through campground, including park employees. We like park and will be back.

the park is beautiful, well maintained and safe. It is big enough to not feel crowded, and has a beautiful lake to enjoy. The water playground ,is great for the little ones, and a relieve to the hot weather (no pools, and the lake is not for swimming activities). You go there and you will have a nice day of disconnection from the outside world...

We went to this place a while ago and keep talking about it. The little water park that they had was fun enough for my daughter to have a blast. the park is clean with some fantastic views.

We have brought our motorhome and camped here. Its feels like you are away from it all. Very relaxing, walk to the lake. Not at all disappointing. Nice big trees.

We go here a few times each year with the grandkids--fishing, picnics, bbq's--there's plenty to do here. Park is well maintained and always very clean. They also have a yearly Civil War weekend, a lot to see and very interesting.

We intentionally chose this campground for two reasons: it was close to our grandchildren's home should they become homesick or ill and the property is developed with many amenities geared toward families. My husband and I usually camp in national forest campgrounds which offer a great wilderness experience, but probably not the best choice for a first camping experience for two toddlers who have never been camping and live in the suburbs and spend weekends with us in Los Angeles. The wilderness camping experience will come later, maybe in a year or two.Prado provides an amazing variety of activities for campers of all ages, but I will focus on what is available for the toddler set, our young ones being 2 1/2 and 4 1/2.The nature trails are wonderful and easy for little ones to navigate. The equestrian trail ran behind our campsite to the delight of the children. Our grandson told his mother he saw lots of 'cowboys' on his camping trip. The model airplane field was behind our campsite as well, and if you don't mind the whining noise of model aircraft, it is fun to watch the planes roll and spin and even the occasional dog fight between two aircraft; the kids loved it.The playground is fantastic and designed to be accessible to children of all abilities and ages and there is a great water playground as well. Fishing with adult supervision was fun, as was playing games in the many grassy green spaces - throwing a football, water torpedoes, etc. The property also serves as a perfect place for a safe scavenger hunt for little ones. In addition to fishing, the lake has a designated area for motorized model water craft as well as paddle boat rentals. The paddle boats hold 3 adults or teens or 2 adults and 2 children.On our first night we had a visitor - a skunk, but he/she didn't stay long as all of our food was packed away. The campground was busy as it was 4th of July weekend, with the typical noise of families camping around us. Fellow campers were respectful of the 10 pm to 7 am quiet hours as well as driving under the 10 mph speed limit through the campsite area of the park.All of the campsites have hook ups for RVs, but not all campsites are available for tent camping (we are tent campers). The hook ups for electricity includ both 220 and 120, so if you need to recharge your cell phone or even want to bring along an electric skillet, you'll have two outlets you can use. The top of the electrical box is wide enough to accommodate a cell phone, but I recommend bringing along a heavy duty extension cord (not the kind used inside a house) as the picnic table isn't close enough to the outlet to use a standard cord that comes with the appliance. There are two water faucets at each campsite, as well as a cement fire ring and cement picnic table and benches.The restrooms are along the line of older roadside rest stop bathrooms and I felt for the premium price campers have to pay to camp on holiday weekends, the park should have had staff resupply and clean the bathrooms more often to keep up with the heavy bathroom traffic. Showers are available; coin operated (quarters) at $1 for 1 minute.Overall, we had a great weekend and most important, the grandchildren had a blast.

What can i say this is my husbands FAVE. I call it a man hole away from home. They have everything you can think of to eat , pool table , jute box and most of all large t.v.'s all over ! :)

This was my 2nd visit to Prado Park. The first time was just a day-use visit and I felt it was overpriced. This time, my husband and I camped here in our RV and had a good experience during our one week stay.The RV park / campground is very well laid out and the spaces are large and well apart from each other. There is plenty of room for big rigs! Many of the RV spaces do not allow tents, which is great! This keeps the noisy tenters away from the RVs, which we particularly liked :-)Most of the RV spaces have some sort of large tree. We had to swing out around some low branches to get into our site, but then had enough clearance. Most of the RV sites are pull-thrus. We had a view of the lake which was nice; some have a nice view across open fields.The RV spaces are 50 amps, which is great! The cost in March was $35 per night. If you book a week's stay you get one night free.There is a prison nearby and we did occasionally hear some "school bell" type of noise from there, but honestly not much. We did hear shooting from the range that is about a mile away, but once we realized that we were not getting invaded by overzealous commandos (LOL!), the noise was not bothersome at all. I can't remember any noise at night and it was very peaceful.This park has a stable on one side of it as well as the pretty lake, baseball diamonds, soccer fields - there are all kinds of activities/attractions for families. The roads are all paved with low speed limits so biking is fun and safe. This is a rural area that still has some dairy farms nearby. In days gone by, there were hundreds of farms, but many have been replaced by housing. We had no fly problem and there was only a faint manure smell from time to time which wasn't any problem for us.We were there in March and during the week the RV park was not too busy, although it filled up over the weekend.When camping, you do not have to pay an entry fee each day. You are given a code to the gate which is changed every few days or so.As far as overall location, the park is close enough to visit Orange county, Temecula wine country, the mountains, Palm Springs -- there are lots of attractions within about an hours' drive. Chino has two airplane museums that are just a few minutes away. For RVers, there is a nice modern Stater Bros supermarket about 3-4 miles from the RV park as well as dozens of restaurants within a 15 minute drive.If we ever are in this area again, we'll be sure to stay here :-)

Great regional park, with a lake, horses, trails, camping, fishing, playground. Not far from nearby cities, its an oasis and getaway that has many acres to enjoy.

LOVE the location for walking and enjoying the water and quite park. I was able to work for the food line for the fire jumpers working a fire in the mountains. Best scene was when the plain picking up water from the lake and returnning to put out the ragging wildfire fire. Plus its very close to anyone and everyone.

Great natural habitat within the fast paced city area. Can forget about the pressure.

It was VERY warm the day I was there, but the shade and the lake were lovely! A wonderful family place to get away from "city life" for a bit.

I have had a great time with family at both this places
