We have a shooting group of about 20 guys (6-10 usually show up) that go to Raahague's Range once a month and have been doing that for the last 18 months. We utilize the sporting clays course which is great. The staff is always nice even when they are really busy. The course is changed frequently so there is always a challenge to test your skills. They also have a picnic area where you can relax after shooting and have some refreshments. They have organized events frequently so check their website for the schedule. The organized events usually bring out a crowd and make it difficult for folks not participating in the event. If you shoot often consider buying a red key to get a significant discount on targets. The only thing I have to complain about is that during the summer it is hot and the wind will kick up in the afternoon. Nothing Raahagues can control but that wind certainly adds another level of challenge. I would highly recommend Raahagues for sporting clays and it is also a great place to introduce younger shooters to sporting clays.

Although this is a shooting range, we've only been there for rattlesnake training for our dog. It took most of the morning but we are now confident that our American Mastiff will avoid and alert of any rattlesnakes when we are hiking. She has already done it once in the Sierra foothills. For $100, it's a great value and it's lifetime training, doesn't have to be repeated.

I reviewed Raahauge once before. But I had done so with only a pistol mentality. While I stand firm on that review, I had a wonderful experience shooting on the rifle range yesterday. My son and daughter and I shot on the "45 yard" range. It has a tall back dirt back stop and is flanked by cinder blocks on either side. You are encouraged to back your vehicle into the shooting area ... so that if you have a truck (like me) you can set up your guns and load then with their business ends pointing into a safe area.A range officer quickly checked us in and provided an additional table for set up purposes. While it is outdoors, it seems very private. In addition to my 357 S&W, we also shot my son's AK47, FAL 308, Ruger 44 Magnum, Mossberg Shotgun and 22 Long Rifle. As you can see, several of the weapons we shot were very serious indeed. You get the range for 2 hours but as long as nobody else needs it, there is absolutely no pressure to leave. We stayed for almost 3 hours and absolutely loved it and can not say enough good words about their range officers. It isn't cheap ($30 per person). But considering how private it seems and how well the range is protected ... the whole atmosphere is well worth it.Understand that there is also a shotgun range that I have yet to experience. My son did let me try his Mossberg 12 Gauge with Double 0 shot (wow, what a punch it packs ... even more than the FAL 308 if you can believe it) ... but this gun is for personal home protection, not shooting skeet!Arrive EARLY (8AM) if you want the best of experiences.

This range has everything. Clays, rifle range, pistol range, steels. My favorite range to go to and well worth the drive from Venice, CA. Only complaint is they do not sell a lot of targets, so remember to bring your own.

I've shot at Raahauge's several times and gone to 2 Turners Outdoorsman-sponsored gun shows there. I also took the Firearms Training Institute Handgun Safety Training Class there. What I've discovered is that if you are into shotguns, this place is definitely for you. Handguns are treated extremely loosley. In other words you have to totally do your own thing. Target stands are not provided but can be purchased there for a nominal price. All ranges are outdoors. And you can shoot almost anyway you want. Not a lot of "pressure" from other shooters on handguns or supervision of range officers. I don't shoot shotguns so I can't confidently comment on them ... but it appears to be very shotgun friendly.

Went here for a fire arms training and had such a good time went back the following weekend. This place is awsome and people here are very friendly. Their goals are mostly safety first beforehand. You will need to learn the 4 saftey steps before handling a gun.So, if you are looking for a nice to shoot then this is the place.Just go enjoy and learn. Definitely recommended.
