A Thursday evening at Lucky Star, beginning with a good Chinese dinner and followed by the Big Band music of the Moonlight Serenade Orchestra, is most enjoyable. Ballroom and Latin dancers will have an even better time, as Lucky Star has a dance floor, too. With or without the dancing, an evening with MSO is highly recommended.

Thanks for the kind words and glowing review of the band. Unfortunately, the Lucky Star Chinese Restaurant has gone out of business. However, The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra continues playing Big Band music on Thursdays. now at Tango Del Rey in Pacific Beach, same hours (7:00 to 9:30) as before. Cover charge is now $10, but there is no minimum. Come dance with us!

If you're a fan of Big Band music, and/or if you love to dance, The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra at the Lucky Star Restaurant every Thursday night is the place to be! They play all the wonderful classic tunes, together with more contemporary Latin and popular dance music. It's rare to be able to dance to a Big Band that really has that swing, and they do!The dance floor is large and frequently full. Whether you're a beginner or experienced dancer, the atmosphere is very welcoming. We go early and have Chinese food for dinner before the band starts, but the main attraction for us is the music.
