The introduction to the staff including the horses was very well said . due to lack of snow we ended up with a wagon ride which did not disappoint. It was a lovely trail and we were provided with thick heavy blanket to keep us warm. Had on our arrival choice of cowboy coffee or hot apple cider, roasted popcorn and marshmellows. a crackling fire to keep us warm and great crowd for company.

My best friend and I were visiting and had a limited amount of time. Larry made sure we had a ride available. It was AMAZING. 2 hours plus with Sierra. She was a great guide and we loved every minute. This is a MUST do. Not your average trail ride.

We took our two children this morning to do the one hour trail ride. They had never been horse riding before and this was a great experience. Friendly people and a great trail to go on. Would recommend for everyone. The price is also very reasonable only $50 US per person. Thank you for a great morning.

My daughter (14) and I went on a 1 hour ride. We've been on a number of rides in other places, but these folks seem to want to do it right. They took their time and showed everyone the basics before we hit the trail. The horses were excellent and its a beautiful ride through the woods. A couple of notes, there are no grand vistas on the ride (at least not the 1 hour one) if that's what you're looking for. They trail is about rough in places so just trust the horse. All in all we had an excellent experience.

these folks really do it right...we are experienced riders and were a bit hesitant on going on a group ride....they educated the beginners so they could stay with the group...the horses were fully trained and didn't act up...the staff was great..the scenery was gorgeous..would go on a longer ride next time!

In June, 2014 I was given a 2 hour horseback ride as a birthday present for my 9th birthday and LOVED it!! This was my first horseback ride on a trail. I loved being in the front with Eddie "the guide", he was very patient with me and pointed out some neat things to look at. I got a blue handkerchief from the really nice lady in the booth where you get your helmets. I brought some toy horses and she took time to name them all with me. I hope my parents will let me come back next year. I just love horses!!!!!

I did this as a birthday treat to myself. I just loved the time they took to explain how to ride a horse. This was my 2nd time doing this. A must do when you come to visit Yosemite, next time I take the 2 hour guided tour.

We booked up the day before with the Boss who was extremely helpful with all our questions as she showed she understood all aspects of our requirements. I think the other Boss was her husband Larry who took us on a meandering trail ride for two hours, up hills, across creeks and back down the hills a different way...all done in a relaxed, informal but highly competent manner.

First time on a horse for me and my 7 year-old. The rest of my family had ridden a horse once before. They will give you a helmet and a bandana. Wear jeans. The guides are very patient and teach you to handle the horse in the arena before you start the ride. The guide roped our 7 year- old's horse to his own. It was only my family on the ride, which was nice. The horses followed each other and knew the way, so we didn't have to steer much. The horses were gentle. We took the one hour ride, and it was the right length, because I started to feel sore by the end. The ride was through the forest with two stream crossings, no scary ledges or sides of mountains. Scenery is mostly the same trees, but the stream is very nice, and for first time riders who are busy concentrating on staying on the horse, the scenery is just fine. Location is in Fish Camp, near Tenaya Lodge, outside of the park's south entrance.A great introduction to horseback riding; we all enjoyed it!

My husband, son, and I thought a scenic trail in the back woods of Yosemite would be fun- we couldn't have been more wrong!I called to make a reservation for a 1 hour ride and was demoralized in the process. The owner took our credit card right away and unbeknownst to us told us there was a weight and BMI limit to ride their horses! My husband's weight and BMI was too much (according to their computer print out!) and we had to cancel our reservation. We are still trying to get our credit card credited. Of course we were told all of this after the credit card went through. We have ridden many horses on many ranches and have never heard of such nonsense. SAVE YOURSELF THE HUMILIATION. Don't be lured-it's only a trail of scams.

My husband and I took the half day trail ride and it was wonderful! The family that runs the place are very nice and helpful. The horses are very fit and well taken care of. They took the time to take all the riders through their paces to make sure they understood the basics and they were especially good with the kids. After the ride we were tired but happy with our experience. The trail was rather dusty due to the lack of rain in the area but the lady at check-in gave us each our color choice of a brand new bandana to wear as a souvenir of our ride. It came in very handy. The half day ride is pretty challenging but if you're not up to that they offer plenty of shorter rides that you can choose from. The best part was that we were riding quarter horses and not mules. Most all of the trail rides in the National Park used mules. If you prefer to ride a horse, these are the folks to go with!

It was sure a pleasure riding with you CAWood38. Just let me know when you are ready to do the Giant Sequoia 1/2 day ride. I would love to show you these majestic 2000 year old red woods.
