We attended a pre-wedding party on Thanksgiving day at Kirigin Cellars Winery where all the wines were made available to taste. It was so much fun to try various wines. Finally eat turkey and stuffing to celebrate the thanksgiving day. I purchased some wines to shipped as well. Lots of fun.

In my opinion, unprofessional staff that makes an event there very disappointing. In my opinion, what was said verbally did not carry through to the event. Upsetting experience for our one and only daughter, in my opinion.

A beautiful venue for a wedding, but I would suggest finding somewhere else. The staff at Kirigin, especially the event coordinator Perri, are very unprofessional and uncooperative. We sat down a few weeks before the wedding and went over the table set-up and location of the dance floor. However, when they opened the doors at the wedding, there was no area left for the dance floor. When our wedding coordinator asked, she was told: "Put the f...ing dance floor wherever you f....ing want." We had also discussed having a sweetheart table for the bride and groom. During our meeting before the wedding, Perri showed us a table in her office that we could use; when I called the week of the wedding to confirm that we could still use that table, she told me she had no table we could use. Two months prior to the wedding, my daughter had called Perri to set up the rehearsal dinner that Friday at Kirigin and to see if it was possible to set up at the venue that same day. It was agreed that we would be allowed to come and set up early for the wedding the next day. However, when my daughter called the week of the wedding, Perri told us that we would not be allowed to come in until 3pm, instead of earlier in the day as discussed. Once my daughter and I arrived and were unloading the beer and cookies for the wedding that was to be stored in the kitchen for the next day, Perri was absolutely rude and nasty to us. When my daughter was trying to put the beer in the fridge, she noticed there was other beer and food in the fridge, which was supposed to be empty for our use. When my daughter asked if she could put the beer in the fridge, Perri yelled at her, saying that the beer in the fridge was hers and that we were not allowed to remove it. We had contracted to have two golf carts to shuttle people in and out from the parking lot. During the reception, I never saw either one of them bringing people in to the reception or later, back out to the parking lot. In fact, I was told after the wedding that Perri was driving people around Kirigin on "night tours", which was not something I wanted her doing nor a purpose for which I had paid. We had a lot of older family members in attendance and this was incredibly inconvenient for them to not have the golf carts readily available for them. Also, there was one staff person by one of the carts dressed in torn jeans and a tee shirt, which was inappropriate attire for a wedding. Additionally, we were not told to bring glasses for water and in the middle of the reception we were told they did not have enough glasses and were going to charge for the plastic glasses they brought out. However, we later saw lots of extra glasses in one of the back rooms. The day of the reception, they wanted to charge more to open the doors early for the florist to bring in flowers and they wanted to charge more if clean-up took more than one hour. As it turned out, the wedding and clean-up were completed 1 1/2 hours earlier than contracted; we did not get reimbursed for that nor for the lack of the contracted shuttle service that did not happen. There was a soccer game when our wedding coordinator arrived to set-up the day of the wedding, and she was not allowed to set-up anything outside until the games were over and the people gone; this did not leave her much time to set-up her decorations on the patio area. When we first talked with Dhru, he assured us we would have the whole day there, but this ended up being a false promise. The most infuriating and unprofessional part was that without asking, Perri was packaging up homemade cookies for herself and her other bartender, during the reception. My daughter went up to the other bartender who was also packing up cookies to question what she was doing and if she was packing up the cookies for our family. Instead the bartender didn't respond and just walked away. Afterwards, Perri also took all the leftover food from dinner, again without asking or paying for it. When I called the owner, Dhru, to talk to him about our experiences, his answer was that we should have called him if there were problems. First of all, I had no cell reception at the venue, and second, it was my daughter's wedding and he thought I should have stopped in the middle of the reception and made a call to him. Be sure to go over every minute detail of the contract before signing. . Would never recommend this place to anyone!

This is a quaint winery that serves some excellent wine. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The coffee infused wine is wonderful.

What sets Kirigin apart from other wineries in the area is the casual atmosphere that it presents without degrading the classiness of it at all. I have been a member at Kirigin for several years, have tasted here many times, held a company retreat in the conference room, and recently held my wedding there. I have been impressed at each stage. The grounds are beautiful as any in Santa Clara wine country, if not more so. The staff is courteous, friendly, and without a hint of snobbery. The owner is a very friendly and cool guy. The wine is great, especially the champagne. I don't think their wines have Parker ratings, and I think that is my favorite thing about them. In conclusion, if you want a great day of drinking delicious wine with cool people in a beautiful setting, this is the place. If you want to show off how sophisticated and smart you are, go anywhere else.

I would recommend anyone stop by this great little winery. The people are great (Hi Maria!), but the wine, for the price is EXCELLENT.

When we saw the tasting garden we were reminded of wine tasting in Italy.Perri was very aware of what our needs were and did everything she could to make our event successful. It was by all accounts. The grounds are beautiful the wine is good and the Owner and staff are so courteous and friendly.

The Kirigin Family sold the property a few years back. The new owner has added a couple of soccer fields, a cricket pitch, and a 7000 square foot modern building for weddings and such to a property where the old tasting room and a couple of other buildings that look 100 years old remain. There are actually three tasting areas, but only one was needed for the few visitors who were there when I was. There are also tables adjacent to the primary tasting room, so bring a picnic.Tasting of up to 6 wines is complimentary. I tasted all six reds, then the tasting room hostess had me try their signature wine--Vino de Mocca, a blend of an undisclosed (and changeable) red wine with added flavors of coffee, orange, and chocolate. Surprisingly it was not cloying, but still not for everyone. They have had the same winemaker for 28 years! The wines are all priced under $20.00, with a 30% discount on the purchase of any six bottles, a 50% discount on a case, and $100/case if you buy more than two cases!! The wines were OK, on the other end of the spectrum from Robert Parker jammy fruit bombs, but a good value; basically decent table wines. Their entire smallish production is sold out of the tasting room and via their wine club. The contrast between the almost ramshackle original buildings and the new building is stark. LOTS of parking. Bring the family and watch local amateur soccer clubs play free of charge on weekends.
