The small, compact lighthouse sits above Trinidad Bay, where many boats are in the harbor in between their forays out onto the ocean to catch fish or take visitors touring. The coastline here is spectacular, and Trinidad Head is nearby for exploring. Trinidad Beach is also right down the road. Each Thanksgiving morning at 10, the Blessing of the Fleet is held at the Lighthouse, and hundreds of locals attend to wish the fisherpeople well and pray for their protection. What a moving ceremony to be a part of! It embodies the spirit of this tiny town of Trinidad.

Historic lighthouse. Situated on the side of a bluff overlooking the ocean. Close to sea stacks. Wonderful photo op!

Perched on the bluffs above the harbor on the edge of town, offers a great view of the coastline to the south. But the lighthouse itself -- not much to see. (If it weren't painted white and shaped with a little tower, it could almost pass unnoticed as a utility or telephone shed on the side of the road...)

I happened on Trinidad while traveling the Pacific coast. The town is quaint, beautiful and clean. The Lighthouse Memorial is also beautiful, the view breathtaking. The memorial humbled me upon reading the names of those lost at sea.If you love lighthouses, add it to your list, though it is not the real thing. There is also a cute bed & breakfast across the street.Hope to visit again someday!

It's on the way down to the beach, which is worth seeing, but don't expect a picturesque lighthouse. It's just a short little thing put up as a memorial and tourist trap.

fantastically, beautiful beach both down the steps from the lighthouse and over the hill from it as well. beautiful spot, don't miss it!

The Trinidad Civic Club worked together to put in a nice park and also the Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse. There is a very nice view of Trinidad Bay. In addition, there is a memorial to those lost at sea. We enjoyed seeing it and taking a moment to reflect.

Walk all around, discover, listen, take photos, drink in the beauty of this extraordinary place. Wait! Don't come! It's too nice undiscovered!

It has a gorgeous view of the shore line with all the fishing boats anchored. Great photo opportunity

Cute as in miniature trains. It, if you find it, will be a surprise to you. I promise. It does make a perfect place to take a group photo..

So if you visit Trinidad, this is perhaps the most recognizable landmark and you just have to get a picture or a selfie with your besties. The memorial is located close to town with a nice view over the marina and the cove.

We enjoyed a walk down the stairs to the coast after dinner in this cute little fishing town. The memorial is interesting itself, but the view is what makes it special.

We visited after lunch. Beautiful view out over the harbor from the view point. Stop and see it while you are in the area.

Trinidad, CA is so beautiful if you love marine life. There's so much to do there. The lighthouse, shopping, collecting sea shells, shop at Sea Around Us, site seeing and many other fun activities. We love taking our grandbabies to the aqarium, they can touch sea animals and they just put in a brand new HUGE ocean life tank. Awesome place for singles, husband and wife, kids and grandbabies. Review--Trinidad, CA.

Drove down to Vegas from Calgary on my motorcycle, then to the coast via Reno and Highway 36,up the coast highway 101 to Vancouver and then home. Wish this site would allow us to include photos because this is one of the most impressive bays in the world. You can access the ocean by walking down the stairs at the lighthouse. If you follow the street in front of the lighthouse to the right you will find an amazing beach as well just at the bottom of the hill. This whole area is amazing, Mckinleyville is a good place as a base for motels and excursions. Visit the redwoods while you are there. You can email me for more info if you wish. Don't forget to go to the "Gallery " if you make it to Crescent city. The famous photographer Allan Justice is from there and hangs out on the beach looking for whales.
