Lots of waterfowl. Also has a nice recreation area, for biking, jogging or even a nice stroll around the lake. There are boating areas (which we did not use) and fishing.

Just take the Lake Murray exit off of I8 and follow it to the lake. It is small with a great running path for walkers and cyclists. A super spot to picnic with the family.

First time down here and totally enjoyed the atmosphere and quiet ambiance. it is just a nice place to spend an afternoon and get away from it all. It is a trip from where we live in Rancho Bernardo, but worth it.

I've been a regular visitor to Lake Murray for over 25 years. There is a paved maintenance road that circles about 90% of the lake. You can walk, jog, bike, or roller skate 3.2 miles (undulating - not flat roadway) in one direction and then turn around and return the same way. There are distance markers every 1/4 mile. It can get pretty busy at times so you do have to exercise some caution. All ages use this roadway and not everyone is as careful or conscientious as they should be. Porta potties are located along the roadway as are benches and picnic tables. Plentiful free parking in 2 lots.

We enjoyed the park facilities and the lake as we walked a small portion of the lake perimeter seeking the Scaly-breasted Munia. We found four in shore vegetation not far from the entrance road. The lake also had a good variety of waterfowl. The area has many amenities for a variety of activities. It is a very good birding venue.

Our family can walk to Lake Murray from our home which is a huge plus. It is a beautiful lake with a great trail and fishing. My boys love to feed the ducks also. It was also a great place to watch the 4th of July Fireworks but they no longer do that there. I would highly recommend this lake.

There is a lot to do at this little lake.You can fish, paddle boat, bike ride, picnic, or take a nice walk around the lake on paved pathways.

Lake Murray is a very nice lake. Nice path to walk along with benches and tables for picnics. It offers fishing and I think they have boat rentals too. While my daughter likes to chase them, a lot of people come to feed the ducks. It is dog friendly so it is a good place for the entire family to go and get some exercise or enjoy the fresh air.

Lake Murray is quite beautiful and has a paved walk/bike road around most of it. The ragweed puts forth an abundance of odor & pollen which does not set well with me. That aside, its a great place to picnic, walk or bike.

This is one of my favorite places to run. I try to make it out to this spot once a week if I can. The paths are paved for the most part. It's a great place to ride a bike or have a picnic as well.

Although a little annoying that you can't go completely around the lake, the road is fairly flat and well maintained. Most days and times are pretty uncrowded. Water and restrooms at both ends, and every quarter mile is marked. Round trip is anywhere from 5-7 miles.

Awesome place to be with family and hang out and take a walk or even a hike. There is always parking and it is a delight to see the ducks and other birds here.

nice area to walk around the lake with wide walkway and nice scenery. Fun to sit and watch the ducks swimming and just relax right in the middle of a community. Good picnicking area, love to take our granddaughter there to see the ducks. Very well kept park in La Mesa

I come here at least a few times a week for a walk. It is not very crowded on the weekdays and I really enjoy the path. Weekend mornings are very crowded but still enjoyable.

I grew up in La Mesa and have always loved coming to Lake Murray. I love to walk or bike around the lake. As a child, my grandfather use to bring me fishing at the lake and we would have picnics there. I still love to watch the birds and wildlife around the lake.
