We went for dinner, as there are few places in the area to choose from. With more than half the tables in the restaurant empty, we were told there would be a 30-minute to 45-minute delay. We left. I don't mind if the casino wants to keep players in the place so they have to gamble or just sit there and inhale cigarette smoke for a little while, but telling me I have to wait nearly an hour when the restaurant is half empty is a wee bit transparent, and more than I could handle. In subsequent visits, the food has been okay, but certainly not worth a 45-minute wait for no apparent reason other than greed. If you want to gamble, by all means go. If you wand to eat, go elsewhere.

This casino looks Tony from the outside, but once you walk in, you would never know you are in a tent! It is beautifully and stylishly decorated. It's actually one of the classier places around. The bar is beautiful and the bartenders are friendly. The only negative for me is the tables have a10 dollar minimum. The fid in the restaurant is amazing so don't forget to grab a bite while you are there. We even win $120!

Casino fare is often a bargain, but dinner was inexpensive and good! Had the Prime Rib special $8.95 and it was a lot of food. Couldn't eat it all. Tasty! Friends told us they have great specials every night.

Of the three casinos at the Lake this is our favorite. It does not have a hotel so you will need to stay somewhere else, but it is friendly and has a good players club

Every month or so, I like to zone out at the penny slot machines. When my brain gets all balled up with too many things at once, this is one of my ways to "clear the deck" so to speak.Running Creek Casino is one of four Casinos in Lake County and the newest. At the South end of the county is Twin Pines, which the tourists in Calistoga would be delighted with. There is Konocti Vista near Lakeport which is a modest local hangout and has a motel w/ a dock and events around fishing and vehicles (bikes, vintage cars, boats) The next one is also in Upper Lake, Robinson's. It is the largest and can accommodate large gaggles of visitors with their casino and hotel. I find the size just right. The slots are rotated enough to keep from being bored. They do a good job of managing the cigarette stink. The buffets and the restaurant and walk-away kitchen are really good- not the usual burgers and fries. I like that I can go during off hours and have my choice of slots to play and a pleasantly quiet time to relax for awhile. They don't have a motel, but there is a Super 8 across the road. They keep it clean and tidy. The staff really like working there and have worked at other casinos. They don't regret the change.
