I have played the Links at Summerly course a few times. It seems odd to have a links style golf course in this arid location of Lake Elsinore. Usually links style courses are located near the ocean. Supposedly this course has the same layout as Carnoustie in Scotland but something tells me they have fallen short in their attempt to replicate the famous course. The fairways and greens are not well kept. The course seems to lack character and charm. I find myself not being interested in some of the holes and just going through the motions to finish them. The price to play during the week is reasonable but they really dont deserve to charge top rates for this course. I will play it from time to time but it is not one of my favorites.

It's a bit challenging and hot during summertime, it's mainly a desert with easy bunks, wide-ish fariways and fast greens. You can see people parachute down from the nearby airfield

What can one say about a golf course that false advertise. You can warn everone else not to waste their money, thats what you can do. Golfed at this couse Saturday November 10, 2012. The photos on the websight are not even close. The greens are beat, bumpy and have bare dirt patches. The fairways are worse, so many bare patches and ground under repair. I have never seen so many areas of no grass on any one golf course. The lakes they show on the websight are mainly empty mud holes. The sand traps have no sand in them, they are hard like cement. Save your wrist, if you play here do not hit out of the bunkers. Not a true links course, I have played true links courses and trust me this is not one of them. This is also the noisest course I have ever played, between the dirt bike races and the airplanes there is not a quiet spot on this course. Before you book think twice!

I have been here twice and did enjoy my second trip much more , but this by no means links golf .To be fair the course and its employees are trying really hard to do a good job and a cheap weekend rate does help everybody was really nice and helpful but as soon as you step on the course reality sets in and it aint pretty . You are playing golf in a hot windy valley in a construction area with 18 grassy trail barely clinging to life. The greens are ok and if you are playing well it can be fun out here ,but target golf in a windy valley can really test your Patience and the fact that instead of rough this course has construction gravel piles playing off the fairway isnt an option . I have played golf in Scotland an lakes have no place on a links course and for that matter the creeks are far to close to the greens so running the ball up isnt an option . that being said this course does offer 18 holes of challenging golf at a fair price and the fact that its in a hard to reach location from most towns isnt a huge problem for some. So if your in the area and want to try something different by all mean try it you may love .

We sat on the patio and looked out into golf course. It is a very beautiful place. The mountains are majestic. Food is good too but the atmosphere is the best!

Most golf courses have unique features. The Links at Summerly in Lake Elsinore is a bit of Scotland with water hazards and parachutists coming down continuously at the neighboring airport. The putter is used off the greens a lot and the setting in between the lake and the baseball stadium for the Lake Elsinore Storm is very nice,Rates are a great value and the bar and restaurant have an expansive view of the course, lake and mountains. Brand new carts came in last week. This is not a plush course with tree-lined fairways but a links course with frequent wind. Unique and fun. Holes 8,9 and 10 provide a challenging turn.

First time playing this course was last weekend. A links course that boasts " At Summerly we believe it's time for golf to be enjoyed by all skill levels, both young and old, a time for golf to be just “FUN”. The Links at Summerly remembers what golf was meant to be, the way it was meant to be played, back in the beginning" On the first hole their was a company that wanted to video tape your shot. My husband and I were grouped up with two nice gentlement that hit off the blue tees, my husband the white and I the red. After filming we were a hole behind the group in front of us. The group behind us was NEVER on the same hole or even on the tee box yet we were told on hole 13 that we were two holes behind (remember we started one hold behind) and we needed to do whatever we could to play faster. My husband and I are average golfers (we par 3-4 holes, boggie or double boggie some but usually not more than that and the 2 men were about the same). We were trying to figure out the course as the GPS does not show the hole only yardage and there are not picture at the tee boxes. It was fun and challenging yet when we were told to "hurry up" even with no one behind us, we felt rushed and were not able to enjoy the Scottish-style burns or anything else that made this course special.

A family wedding at this venue adjacent to Temecula valley wine country could not have been more beautiful. The golf course was designed for a more natural, old-fashioned feeling, and the view from the clubhouse was incredible and serene. Overall, service by staff was outstanding: attentive but not intrusive. Guests from all walks of life were comfortable and a good time was had by all. Prices were reasonable for this area and the food was quite good. I would thoroughly recommend this site for future weddings. Only hiccup: 2 inexperienced busboys carrying tubs into dining area to clear plates (they were quickly re-directed by manager and most guests probably didn't notice).
