This is the epitome of the small, wine focused, family ran and feel vineyard that a wine enthusiast desires. The tasting was so much fun and the grounds transport you to another place. Will return on a weekend to enjoy this one longer. The Port, and I am not a Port person, is amazing. If you can do a tasting with Michel, he's awesome!!

Visited this historic, family-owned winery due to its Bay Area rating (among other rave reviews) as one of the Top Wineries to explore in the Livermore wine region. Retzlaff lived up to its reputation & we thoroughly enjoyed our experience there! Reasonable tasting fee ($10) for a wide selection of excellent reds and whites. We were partial to the Chardonnay and Estate Cabernet, but all were very good. Friendly & cheerful tasting room hosts/hostesses with idyllic, relaxing grounds for a leisurely picnic and a bottle of your favorite blend. Highly recommend!

We had a bottle of their Savignon Blanc along with Lunch today. As the staff there described when this bottle starts warming the complex flavor just bursts out and it had the best buzz that we exeprienced in recent times. Also the house Reserve Cabernet Savignon shows the amount of expertise they have to seal in the oakey flavor of american and french oak barrels and it will pair great with a steak. We also tasted their tasted their port which was subtle yet strong reminder of the oak aged gem. This was a truly great afternoon and as a wine enthusiast we look forward to buy the wine future they offer as we can get a great price point. This is no ordinary winery and their product mentioned is easily a 95 point or above.

I arrived with my family at the winery and in a short period of time felt like family. In fact we met many family members during a visit that was far too short.Next time I will have a picnic,drink some wine and relax. I honestly did not want to leave, and knew my next winery experience would be no match. Oh, and by the way.......the wine totally rocks !

Retzlaff is the first winery you'll pass as you come onto Tesla after the public library so you could miss it. However, drive down the dirt road on the left, and you'll come to a very quaint winery with excellent organic wines.

We parked our cars between the rows of grapes and proceeded down a path to the wedding setup. The very efficient staff quickly moved the chairs from the wedding seating to the reception dining tables. The catered food was delicious. A stage for dancing offered both young and old the chance to "kick up their heels" at the reception.

Loved this winery. Quaint, lovely grounds and tasting room. Connie was friendly and informative. Good, quality wines. I'm looking forward to going back again when it wasn't raining to enjoy the beautiful grounds.

The second visit in two weeks. Bought some wine and some Orange Zinfandel Mustard. Both were great. I now can make my favorite Peanut Butter and Mustard Sandwich on White Bread again...tasty too. You must try it. Michel and Patti are two of the best hosts in the Livermore Valley...We;ll be back !
