The 12 acre Oak Meadow Park is a wonderful park in Los Gatos. We like it a lot.We like the creek area, the walking paths, and the picnic areas. For the children there is wide range of activities. The playground is fun with a plane, fire engine, and many things to climb and have fun on. At the park is also the Billy Jone Railway train and carousel.. There is also bocci ball. The hours for the train can be found on the web.

There is a great playground, carousel and steam train. Lots of lawn for children to run and play.If you are not a town resident, you must pay a parking fee or park on the street and walk in.

This is a great park for families. The playground is fun and unique, there are nice public restrooms, and lots of grass for multiple families to play on. It has plenty of picnic tables which I believe can be reserved through the town of Los Gatos. Best of all is the Billy Jone Railway which will take you on a ride through Vasona Park in open cars, kids love it! In the summer the merry go round is running and it is great for younger children. It also has the Los Gatos Creek trail running through it and you can walk or ride a bike all the way to Campbell.

This park is the best place in Los Gatos for families with young children. They have a Merry Go Round and small steam train. Tickets are $2.00 per ride. The train goes into Vasona Park, which is the county run park. The county park entrance fee is much higher than the Oak Meadow parking fee. Los Gatos residents get free parking at Oak Meadow, but you must show proof of residency. Oak Meadow Park has a very nice playground, plus an old military plane that the kids can climb into. It's just a short walk into Vasona Lake Park, which has lots of ducks and geese (beware, some of the geese can be aggressive, probably due to the fact that they have been fed, and this can be scary for small children, or timid adults). There is also a lake that has some paddle boat and sailboat rentals. Most likely these run only during the summer months. Bring a blanket for putting on the huge lawn to relax or picnic. There is actually a small snack concession stand that sells treats and stuff, again very limited hours.

The park is taken care of and massive. I went there for a run in the morning and felt completely safe and close to the nature.

This park is a gem. It has a GREAT kids playground complete with an airplane and fire engine. Nice level field and lots of shade. The highlight though has to be the train that goes through Oak Meadow and Vasona Parks. It's fantastic for the whole family and...it allows dogs. They also have a merry-go-round. Great good ole' fashion fun.

Great place for kids. Nice play ground and a railroad. Many birds, including Snowy White Egrets nesting on a small island at the North West end of Lake Vasona. Also a pair of Great Blue Herons nesting on Los Gatos Creek.

Local children refer to Oak Meadow as "The Airplane Park". It is one of the last parks in the U.S. to have a real plane upon which kids can climb and use their imaginations! Oak Meadow also is home to a lovely, historic carousel and a small gage railroad. There are loads of swings, slides and play equipment, plus an expanse of lawn, a bandstand, and multiple picnik tables. This is a fantastic park for a kid's birthday party or any outdoor event. Vasona Lake County Park is next door and shares the train and carousel, plus of course the lake for sailing, paddle boating etc.Oak Meadow is home to many annual events such as the September "Screen on the Green" (movie showing) and the Los Gatos Shakespeare Festival each July-August too. A great place to enjoy The Bard under the stars!The parking lot is free to residents of the town, but there's a small cost for visitors. Street parking along University Avenue is a no-cost alternative.

This is a city park and it has a great playground area for small children. It also houses an antique restored merry-go-round and an old time railroad ride called the Billy Jones Railroad which has a steam engine and several restored passenger cars. There is a creek running along side the park which the kids love. There are lots of trees and many picnic tables. They have a baseball field with backstop and a large grass area where older kids play frisbie, etc.

Mi hijo de 3 años lo pasó increíble en los juegos para niños. Tienen una avioneta donde estuvo feliz. También hay un tren y un carrusel pero no lo vimos porque llegamos tarde y ya no habìa atención.
