I understand many have been disappointed with beach glass. I was not. If you follow the path to the beach, most people go down the beach directly in front of them. There is a little bit there, but not much. To the right is a beautiful long beach with virtually no beach glass. But to the left, down a steeper slope, that is where we found all the little gems. It is not a large beach, but it's worth seeing.

Not the most beautiful beach, especially if you consider what it is you are standing on. That said, it's really fascinating! Approaching the beach I was disappointed. I was expecting a multicolored beach shimmering like fine jewels in the sun. Not hardly. But get up close and dig through with your fingers and realize that you are standing on something both truly unique and completely environmentally disgraceful. If you're driving by it's worth a stop for 10 or 15 minutes.

Great for a walk along the cliffs, beach or into the sea on an interesting beach! Stayed in Fort Bragg and wasted a couple of hours away here on long walks and looking at the interesting glass on the beach. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area

Here you can see how the locals have worked to regain their coastline and redeem its industrial history in order to give themselves and their children a great view.

Amazing that just in the 60's people used the ocean as a dump! You can see the remnants, beyond just the cool glad pieces, on the beach. Very cool place to visit. Lots of construction and limited beach access now that the state has taken it over... but still worth it.

Glass Beach is a great beach for exploring in Fort Bragg. It's a busy place, especially with the new boardwalk, but there are still plenty of places to find beautiful pieces of sea glass.

The beach is quite a phenomenon but much smaller than I expected. Make sure to stir up the top of the beach to see all of the levels of glass below - really cool to see yesterday's trash turn into today's treasure.

Really enjoyed this unusual beach of naturally tumbled colored glass. Not a huge amount of glass is left because of all the collection over the years, but makes a nice free activity.

We enjoyed an hour or so walking and picking up glass at this beach area. Turn toward the coast at the Denny's on the outskirts of Fort Bragg to get there. It was very late afternoon so the sun was at the point that gives the scenery a soft golden glow, great for photos of the coastal scenery. The walking path was busy with dogwalkers and a few people were down on the beach. We were amazed at the amount of glass, albeit small pieces primarly white, clear, brown and some green. Don't expect large pieces or red and blue. We had never experienced so much glass on a beach. The first area we walked only had a bit of glass then we discovered an area that was simply covered in glass pieces. We were told by a local that there is not as much as there used to be and that the town would like to dump some further up the coast to provide more glass for the tourists!

Loved it! it was a gorgeous Valentine's Day in February and everyone was at Glass Beach! We had a reservation for dinner and had to get on the road! Could have spent the whole day here just beach combing! Can't wait to go back with our daughter!

There is a lot of work going on. There is a walking path at least 1 mile in length going in - with information signs, and many beautiful spots for taking pictures and many benches to sit along the way. Although it was told to us this was a dumping ground at one point, it appears the City is putting much time and effort into improvements.

It was recommended that we visit Glass Beach while ion the Menocino Coast. The staging area is being redone, so it lacks garbage cans and restroom facilities. The parking fills up very fast on weekends. The walking trails and views are fantastic. We climbed down to the beach to look at the glass. It was great. There are some signs along the way explaining about the area. If you are in the area, I recommend a stop. It should be even better once complete.Enjoy!

We bought some seed glass to throw into the water, so that there will be more glass for others. We had a great time climbing around the rocks and looking into tide pools. Lots of beautiful anemones, crabs and starfish. Definitely recommend stopping at Glass Beach for a visit

This is a very beautiful beach and deserves 5 stars for being a beach. It deserves 0 stars for being a glass beach, and therefore, I gave it a 3. There is hardly any glass left here and what there is is tiny. See my pics. Everyone and I mean everyone is picking and picking and picking it. Since it is "not allowed" (I did not even see a sign trying to enforce this) everyone carries around disposable coffee cups to fill with the tiny bits of glass. Seemed like everyone was somehow going through massive caffeine withdrawal. You will never see the beach as it is in Google image search, but it's still a pretty beach. Go there for a wander, don't expect to see any glass. I saw 0 pieces of blue glass BTW. Don't go to Fort Bragg solely for the glass on the beach or you will be extremely disappointed.

It wasn't exactly what we were expecting considering some of the pics I have seen online. There wasn't a ton of glass. It was a mixture of glass with lots of pebbles. There were many people there, though, sitting and digging through it all to find the perfect samples of glass to take home with them. We were there when the tide was low, so we had great fun walking around through the tide pools and seeing what we could find. It's a fun stop and there were lots of people there, so it is something to do while in Fort Bragg.
