We rode on Sunday February 8, 2015. We found this place by their website. It was a busy day at the ranch. The horses and guide were ready to go when we arrived. The helmets were comfortable, the saddles were not ! There is only a small loading block for getting on, and you are not allowed to use it for getting off, so it can be a long way down, but Kathy helped me get off without incident. Our guide was Taylor and she did a great job on our 1 1/2 hour ride. You would get lost for sure with out her. She even got her horse off to adjust my stirrups for me.My horse was Joker, he was a bit hard to control as he always wanted to pull ahead and bit the guide's horse's behind, which resulted in her horse kicking Joker. At one time Joker bucked, but I stayed on. I am an experienced rider - 40 plus years. My fiance rode Arrows, who seemed to be more mellow than Joker. Only problem with Arrows was stopping to eat grass a lot.The terrain is scenic but hilly on the trail ride and I would prefer a route that was flatter. The cost was 60 USD per person for a one and a half hour ride. There are signs posted that guides are not paid and work only for tips. We tipped our guide 20 bucks for the two of us and she seemed happy with that.I consulted with Kathy regarding my concerns with Joker, and she suggested another horse for my next visit that might suit me better. When you make your reservations you can request a specific horse. All in all, a nice outing on a beautiful afternoon.Denelle K,, Quartz Hill CA

I took two girls 10 and 7 who have a years riding experience along with myself that's not ridden for years. Kathy and her staff were tremendous. The horses were matched perfectly and they were tacked up in advance. The ranch is right on the LA National Forest trails so straight onto the ride from the stables.Great, safe and enjoyable trail ride- highly recommended.

My husband and I decided to surprise our daughter with horse back riding lessons. I called around the AV and was recommended by Lazy T Ranch. I called and talked to Kathy and must have asked her 20 questions but she was very patient and friendly. I made a reservation for the following Sunday. We took an older car knowing that there was about a 3 mile dirt road to the ranch. The signs made it easy to find the ranch. We pulled right up and and Kathy greeted us.There were so many horses, over 50 on the ranch. Since it was my daughter's first time, Kathy choose a calmer older horse named Red Feather. After I filled out a waiver my daughter helped Kathy get the horse and tie him up to saddle him. She was so patient with my daughter explaining every step of of the way. She let her brush him, saddle him, and give him hugs. Kathy taught my daughter how to walk around the horse just about everything you need to know to get started. After a few minutes and covering the basics, Kathy moved them into the bigger arena. My daughter scared at first loved the lesson and was laughing by the end. She loved feeding and petting the other horses at the ranch as well.

We took a group of 10 on our trip, all levels of experience, including one that's disabled and 2 kids that have never riden. They all had a great time and Kathy knew exactly which horses to put everyone on. Great birthday experience.

I have been boarding my horse here for 2 years and they take amazing care of their horses and everyone there is down to earth and easy going. If you've never ridden a horse, start here because they will make it easy on you and fun. I recommend this for families, couples, anyone who misses their horse back home, its wonderful. Kathy is the boss and she's a great ppl person, and especially great with kids. If you have lots of riding experience, there are several horses you would really enjoy, you can even go foxhunting nearby. Don't hesitate to come check it out.
