First, this area is NOT to be confused with Pebble Beach in Monterey. It is part of Bean Hollow State Park area in Pescadero and is a very pretty rocky beach area. Pescadero is a small town north of Santa Cruz, California. The rocks have been sculpted by the weathering process; the geological term for this process is called tafoni. We have enjoyed visiting Pebble Beach area of this state park. It is a nice area to take pictures of the rocks and the ocean.Parking is in the small California state park lot - daily use fee or it is covered as one of the parks if one has an annual state park pass.

This beach was well hidden until a decade ago. Now it gets lots of foot traffic, but there's plenty of room for everyone.Original attractions were the lava formations and the beach of agate pebbles (so much fun for kids). Cliffs, tide pools, wave action to keep you interested. Yes, it can be cool, windy and wave action can get very strong (so be quite careful and heed warnings).I always love going here and my kids always did too.Parking can be tight on a busy weekend.

What a wonderful adventure you can go on at this beach. Me and the pup and walk on forever! Back when I was a kid me and my folks would travel out here every weekend so this place holds a special place in my heart. Usually it is not to crowed this time of year so I would highly recommend coming on out.

a little vertical getting in and out-wear good shoes as the pebbles are hard on your feet! Beautiful area, looked popular with school groups but nice at low tide.

This is our go-to beach site. Pebble Beach (it's fun to sort through the tiny rocks and marvel at all of the colors) is on the north side of the parking. We usually bring a picnic lunch and are often fortunate enough to nab the table overlooking the tidepools to the south. (The other picnic table is set back a ways, where the portable toilet used to be-- ick!)There is a great trail that follows the bluff all the way to Bean Hollow, with a few benches well-placed along the way. At about the halfway point, there are numerous seals to watch frolicking in the water or lounging on the rocks.

What a beautiful place to see and enjoy the ocean., Be sure to take a warm jacket as the fog can make the summers really cool. The best time to visit the ocean is in October after the fog of August has left.,

Beautiful beach, legendary golf course, luxurious residential complex, two stately hotels draw visitors from all over the world.

Nice area to visit. My husband wanted to see the various golf courses in the area. We were able to get in, visit the area, watch a golf tournament for awhile, then continue on to the 17 mile drive. You have to pay to get into Pebble Beach/17 mile drive. It's $10 and very scenic.

See, experience and indulge this 17 mile ride along the splendid coast of California.Coming from Monterey and entering through Pacific Grove Gate one passes by nice mansions and as the road leads through forest scenery it takes a while before one sees the ocean at Spanish Bay. All the way down to Pescadero Point one marvels over the diversity of flora, fauna, land(scape) and water.Stop wherever and whenever you can, get out of that car and just gaze over the water, admire the majestic cliffs, the white bleached Monterey cypresses, the succulents with the bright pinkish flowers, the seals, sea lions and occasional beavers.Yes, one has to pay in order to enter- and drive this beautiful road(s) but it is worth every penny!

We visited in May, 2011 and found this drive to be excellent. For only a few dollars, you get to spend a couple of hours viewing dramatic coastline scenery right off Hwy 1. Plenty of great photo opportunities at your own pace ending at the Pebble Beach Golf Course. It makes for a very relaxing day.

WOW factor is there. Very California rugged mystical coastline. Something to be seen.

We drove Highway One from San Francisco to Santa Monica. The highlight was the stretch around Monterey and Carmel. Allow at least a day to do the 17 mile drive. Take a picnic and enjoy the gorgeous beaches. Visit Pebble Beach Golf Club and stroll down to the 18th hole, right alongside the seashore. Enjoy coffee and in the Club House with spectacular views. We stayed at the Inn at Carmel, which was good value with spacious rooms. Go into Carmel and explore the numerous boutiques and Art Galleries. Eat at the Hog's Breath owned by Clint Eastwood. A visit to Hearst Castle is well worthwhile, although the guided tours are a tad short in time. Nevertheless, the drive up in the coach (included in entrance fee) gives wonderful vistas back down to the coast. Book ahead to be sure you get the time slot that fits in with your schedule. If travelling south (best side for views), just before turn off to Hearst Castle, look out for turn in at shore, to view Elephant Seals. Absolute giants and amazing to see. We stayed two nights at Pismo Beach, which was too long. One night is enough.
