Love coming here. Great value - double feature for 8.00 a person. Snack bar is well stocked and reasonable. Sound quality is as good as your FM radio allows. Whole family likes coming here.

This was my first time going to a Drive-In so I can not really compare it to other places, but all I can say is that I had a great experience and all the good things the other reviewers mentioned are spot on. They show current films, which for $8/person is a great deal. The food place had fair prices with a good variety; as many others mentioned they make their money from what they sell here, so make sure to support them to help them stay in business (even if you take your own food, at least go buy a candy bar or something). When I was reading reviews about this place, some people complained that you can see the lines on the screen and that the video quality was not that great; personally we did not have a problem and thought both the audio and video quality were excellent. The only thing we had a problem with was that our windshield kept fogging up, but that was on our side. Also it is a bit far since we are closer to the coast, but I think it was worth it. We went during the week so it was not crowded which made our experience even better (I understand that during the weekends it is really busy so the experience might be a bit different then). Overall, we had a great time and truly enjoyed going to the Santee Drive-In. I am definitely looking forward to watching more movies there.

The Santee Swap Meet has a very good swap meet on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Get to the site early in the summer. Many of the dealers/sellers are packing up by 10:30am. There appeared to be more true "swap meeters" than dealers upon our last visit.

Traditional Drive-In. Have been going here since a teen driver "70's". Current films, not so current prices. Just off HWY 67 and hard to miss. A true Santee icon.

If you are reading this and you are like me, you probably visited a drive in during their dying days of the late '70s. If you long for a return to those days of simpler times than you simply must visit this drive in. Located just off High way 67 in Santee, this drive in incorporates all the best of the past and the present. Digital films, stereo sound thru your own radio and best of all...a bargain too good to pass up. 8 dollars for adults, 4 dollars for kids. Always a double feature. ( do the math ) More than reasonable snack bar prices. Clean bath rooms and employees roaming the lots to enforce rules. Let's be honest. Don't you just hate the texting crowd, the kibitzers, the person that kicks the back of your seat in a conventional theater? All that behavior is eliminated at the drive in. Please allow me to describe my most recent visit May 24. Wife and I packed a small cooler with snacks and soft drinks to be consumed at a DBL feature showing Xmen: Days of Future Past paired with Amazing Spider-Man two. We stopped off at a deli and purchased sub Sandwichs and chips for dinner. We made our way to the theater, arriving 40 minutes before posted box office opening. We ate our meal while in the line for the B. O. After finding a preferred parking spot we settled in for the movies. It is the only way we see first run films anymore. To summarize. Reasonable ticket prices for a double feature. Reasonable snack bar prices. Clean rest rooms. ATM on site (At the snack bar)Popular, first run features. Ability to bring own food and snacks. Ideal for families with children.

I love the fact that you can take the grand kids with all their snacks without the hassles of trying to keep them quite as not to disturb the other patrons and you can bring food and drinks you like instead of soft drinks and candy that cost a small fortune... and when someone wants to sleep they can and the price is very reasonable for the car load...

I first went to the Santee Drive-In approximately 45 years ago. It shows much newer movies than it used to and looks a lot cleaner. It's really a classic--I like to think of it as a piece of Santee history. It is difficult to find drive-in movie theaters anymore and I'm really glad this one has managed to stay on. It's a great way for couples with kids to see movies, especially with newborns. When my daughter was an infant, it was a nice way to have a date night and still be able to breast feed in the privacy of my own car. Fun place--I highly recommend it.

This is a great place to enjoy the cool weather under the stars. You get to see two movies for $8.00 for adults, and $4.00 for children. Expect to stay up late because it doesn't get dark until later, especially in the summer! It is great to bring the kids because they get a chance to experience something I experience from my childhood. It is a great place for the family, your friends, and a date night, of course!!

This landmark is one of the best deals and keeps me passing on my childhood loves to my kids! A true drive in Theatere is almost exteinct in San Diego County but the Santee Drive keeps on Chugging alone! GO...Experience the best of the past! Keep it alive!

I have gone two times now and enjoyed it a lot. It is great for a date, as well as a night out with friends. My roomie and I went the other night once her 1 yr old son fell asleep. He was asleep the whole duration of the movie. Not sure why we hadn't thought of going to see a movie @ the drive-in with him before. Plus it is only $8 :o)

Love coming here in the summer though they are open year round. Great experience with the kids or with your special someone.

We love going to the outdoor movies! You get 2 movies for the price of one! "Darker" movies hard to see, and be careful of foggy nights(They will give you a return ticket if rained or fogged out) Would highly recommend! Bring a jacket and/or blanket, it can get chilly. So fun... we say people that put a couch in the back of a pickup and watched the movie from there. Great staff, helpful if you run your battery down, and lots of good snacks at the snack bar. Not an upscale place, but very nostalgic!

My husband and I love being able to see 2 movies for the price of 1 and being able to bring all the snacks we want with us. We have had a few issues at times with larger trucks blocking the view of our smaller car but the staff does try to keep on top of that. The do have certain areas that are for cars and ones for trucks. Not sure which side it is but one of the screens is not as easy to watch to us as the other. One screen seems to be put together with some kind of material that has alot of seaming to it. We still go though and love every minute of it. They do only take cash so make sure you have enough.
