They were off in the distance chasing rabbits, that they could not catch.A lovely place for a picnic lunch.I go and get a Dudley's sandwich and just be with nature. Tons of open dpace and eady hiking.During the winter the hills are green and beautiful. Spring and summer, beware of snakes, as they will be stretched out gathering sun and blend in well with the terrain. It's on the way to Julian, and easy to access.

The hike from the trailhead is somewhat hilly, but it is worth the ups and downs just for the views. Worth every step.

Beautiful vistas of back country mountains and meadows which easily accessible either by walking or by mountain bike. The preserve is pet friendly as long as dogs are kept on leashes. It is adjacent to open range ranches so don't be surprised if you encounter some mellow back country cattle ambling thru.

The Preserve is just that, a great creek and meadow land home for all riparians. Open range, so you see cattle, sometimes a possessive bull, and lots of birds. A friend came away with a great close up of a Golden Eagle! There are three separate portions, all are good.

Easy to moderate hike, great views. Has some awesome picnic spots. Well marked trail system. Good for those new to hiking. Has a few hills you might want to prepare for. Bring water the hike it self is in the 5 mile range. Started out 8am ended about 1pm

This is a very nice hike, with places to sit on the way. Watch for snakes, of course.

Went for a hike on the Upper Santa Ysabel Creek Trail (parts on the Kanaka Trail loop) for the first time - What a beautiful, peaceful area! The trail is not very strenous, some rolling hills. You'll encounter the cows that roam the area. The afternoon we went, we didn't encounter another single person. Hard to believe this area is in San Diego - especially when you get on the upper flats. If you're looking to get away for a rare San Diego jewel, head here!

Il posto è carino per fare due passi ma alla fine non c'è granché, non vi aspettare chissà che paesaggi, magari è carino per un pic nic
