Reflecting pool surrounds recently renovated playground. Dogpark is currently being split into one for big dogs and one for small dogs. This part is used by many sports teams for baseball and volleyball.

We love it because the park has lots of facilities, well landscaped. It' very convenient and yet you feel as though you are in the country.

Went here with our friend and his one year old daughter. Nice large park with two playgrounds. One was geared to young children and one to older. There is also a water area that was not being used due water restrictions, so do not count on that piece.

We love this park! I have lived near this park for 10 years. After school on Fridays all the kids meet at the park and the moms hang out and chat. They just replaced all the old wooden and steal structures which was sad, but they have some very nice replacements. They also have a water structure which if you plan in advance, the city will turn on for you for a fee. There are BBQ pits and a dog park and plenty of space to run around. There is a park building that one can rent with bathroom facilities. Overall, it is a clean, fun park.

This park is great. We love to go here at least a few times a month. There are tennis courts right next door, a dog park, a manmade lake that is filled in the late spring, summer, and early fall, wonderful play structures, a baseball diamond, and lots of grass for picnics and playing with your kids and dogs.

I went to a picnic lunch at Las Palmas Park celebrating my tennis captain's team advancement to the Nationals -his first league team going to the Nationals in 30 years of coaching -better late than never, Larry!Las Palmas Park has some 9 picnic tables under the trees, next to the drained water pond, and the dirt dog park. Geese were attracted to the water pond, and left the concrete rim of the pond saturated with droppings. And the dirt dog park with a water fountain, and hydrant, was once grass, but dogs and grass don't mix -just like me and my ex-wife! The picnic table for our tennis team was easy to find, as men's picnics come with no table cloths -we men eat directly on the tables, regardless of how dirty they are!The picnic was scheduled tor 11am, so I arrived at 11:30am, walking from my house, in my $100 Chaco womens sports sandals -purchased for $12 used. I was hoping to avoid the inevitable hot air announcements that always precede the eating! Apparently everyone else was thinking the same thing, as I was among the first there! My wife told me to call her -but only when the food was ready to be served! Larry H, our captain, was holding down the fort, with picnic supplies and ice coolers. We didn't reserve the tables, so it was first come, first served. Very conveniently located feet away from the parking lot at the end of Spinosa, next to dog park. In the background, replicas of Easter Island statues with "do not climb" notices attached, in the drained water pond. We may be old, but we are not that old, as the real Easter Island statues!I open up one of the few nonalcoholic drinks, while other players arrive, and open up the beer. And what goes with beer? Pit stops! Bathrooms in the recreation building next to the Russet street parking lot, on the other side of the newly renovated children's playground with tube slides. Steve Y arrives with brillantly colored lime-yellow trimmed tennis shoes, something for the under 18 year olds, not for 60+ old farts -nobody wanted those colors, that's why they were on sale! Larry N asks where the batteries are - lighted shoes for kids come with batteries! Our captain drives in with the food from Armadillo Willys and KFC -Chick Fil A s was closed Sundays! And this was the Captain who advocated 'eating wisely', by always getting Subway sandwiches for tennis refreshments! The ribs go first and fast, and the chicken nuggets last. No shaking hands afterwards with those ribs! Tom T, one of the major players on the team, saunters in last, just before the ribs are gone, in typical socks and sandals -hey we didn't say these were fashion aware folks, just darn good tennis players! Tennis stories are recalled, including match point by Jim C, captains Larry H and Robert B are honored with trophies, and slaps on the back on this hot summer afternoon under the palm trees of Las Palmas Park. And if you see any rib stained T-shirt backs, you know where they came from!
