Absolutely terrific climbing lesson and one of the best values in Joshua Tree! I took a 1/2 day, 2-person intermediate rock climbing lesson with Chris. He was clearly very knowledgable and proficient in the field, making the choice to be a full time-guide as a second career. My partner and I were VERY impressed with his guiding (and plentiful jokes). He offered coaching and encouragement when necessary, but let us figure out some footing on our own. The lesson included climbing 2 routes (2x each route) and a trip through the "Chasm of Doom." At the end of the afternoon, we left VERY impressed with both Chris and the Vertical Adventures company. The owner, Bob, was also extremely helpful and courteous. He returned phone calls and emails promptly, and generally gave great advice about the park.

My 17 year old son had a really enjoyable time with instructor, Chris who was friendly, informative, fun and an excellent teacher. Vertical Adventures was fine experience from the initial booking to the last step of the climb.

My first outdoor climb as only gym indoor taught climber. Dave was the best lead climber and guide. he taught me more about foot work, and weight shifts in the half day trip than I had learnt over the whole year previously. lots of variety in the climbs well worth the cost. action packed day and adrenalin rush.thanks heaps.

I had a half day climbing with a private guide, Dave. Never Done that before so was a little unsure what to expect. He was awesome, I did heaps of climbs, he was really motivated for me to get the most out of my half day. He is a local and certainly new the area we climbed in like the back of his hand, and i suspect the same applies to the rest of the park. Logistically the company was great to deal with and even pointed me in the direction of a great place to stay. This would definitely be my choice of guiding company again.

I signed our two teenage grandchildren(girl, age 14; boy, 16) up for a day climbing experience. They are athletic and both have experience with indoor wall climbing, but nothing like this. The instructor, Erik Kramer-Webb, was excellent. He explained each point, eg how to tie the knot, the exact safety points, very carefully and then had each one do the procedure under his supervision. They had a wonderful and successful experience in which they learned enough to go elsewhere with the proper group. We received very specific instructions re clothing, water, and directions to the meeting place within the park ahead of time. Shoe rental is $5 extra and really essential. This is a first class outfitter and I would certainly use it again.
