If you're up to a bit of a challenge, try this hike around Cranberry Lake. Parking lot at entrance. Gorgeous lake with path mostly along the water's edge. Very peaceful. Wear good walking/hiking shoes!

We hiked into Cranberry Lake. It was a pleasant walk on a very beautiful, well maintained trail. The park is clean, and the improvements are adequate. The lake with it's floating cranberry bogs is worth seeing.

Not a typical tourist attraction because of its lack of development. I may be giving it a great disservice writing about it. I new about it because I grew up walking distance from it 60 years ago. The nice thing is unlike much of Anacortes, it has not changed. There is a rough half mile dirt road to get there and once there there is parking and the lake, NO services. There are walking paths to different viewpoints and a couple places to sit. That's serenity without a bunch of people.

The trails around the lake are so well maintained by Ranger Dave, that it is enjoyable for the whole family. So much to see and so many trails to explore.

Washington State has so many stunning places to visit that it is really difficult to rate every park. The Cranberry Lake area is a forested area with the quiet, solitude and peace of a forest. Due to the trees, there are not a lot of "vistas" other than Cranberry Lake itself. You can sit near the shoreline and watch birds and just relax. Some parts of the park or more hilly than you would expect, so be prepared to go up a few hills. I think it is a great park for a local day trip.

Cranberry Lake is a beautiful gem on Fidalgo Island, sitting atop one of the tallest hills. It is surrounded by homes on nearly all sides, but the moment you step into the forest, you feel a world away. Cranberry Lake is small and beautiful. Fishing is reasonably good year round, but the best reason to come here is to enjoy the walk through the forest and then to sit and listen to the eagles soaring above you as you stare out on to the lake. Pay attention to the trail signs (grab a map, to make it even easier), and you'll have no problem enjoying a day that everyone in your group will remember for a long time.

This is a peaceful, beautiful natural forest lands park. It's always good here. Some folks like to cast out a line, but I just enjoy the walk in the woods.

This is a very nice walking trail, not too difficult or too long. Warning, pay attention to the signs!! There were signs posted at either end of part of the trail that warned us of bees in the area but we thought " there are always bees in forests so why would today be any different?" WRONG, I stepped near a nest and was swarmed by many, many hornets and stung about 8 times. Very terrifying. Otherwise this trail is quite a nice one to take.
