Rode through this spectacular area on a bike tour with a bunch of old guys. Riding early in the morning meant it was mostly void of vehicles. Wide shoulders and good pavement made it more enjoyable.

Surrounding rock formations are great for photography. When hiking watch out for local animal residents. Great place for birdwatching.

I drive this many times a year and I still love the scenery. Taking the trip at sunrise is especially beautiful.

Washington State's newest designated "Scenic Hiway". Lived in the area when I was young and STILL LOVE IT. Wonderful lakes, fishing, boating, swimming. AND Soap Lake's magnificent "CALLING THE HEALING WATERS" sculpture and pavilion on the beach next to HWY 17 (THE CORRIDOR") It was dedicated June 20, 2009 to the "Colville Confederated Tribe" A real sight to behild at night when the lights come on
