From northern Washington, we've had several chances to taste Memaloose wines and have been impressed, so discovering the tasting room on it's perch above the river was a pleasant surprise. We HAD to stop. Was so interesting to taste through the entire range--our previous experience has mostly been with the excellent cab franc and reislings. The wines here are deliberately clean and unspoofulated--not everybody's preference, but it's definitely mine--and there were several revelations. We especially enjoyed the York's Reward (a blend of mostly barbera and primitivo aged in neutral French oak) and the ebullient rose made from, of all things, dolcetto, a grape I have not held in high regard but might have underestimated. In addition to the grapes mentioned above, Memaloose makes wine from chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, gewürztraminer and several others. I believe there's a nominal tasting fee but that's forgiven with the purchase of wine.

This is another winery we visited when visiting the Maryhill area and we enjoyed it a lot. The Columbia River is mesmerizing and this tasting room looks right down on it. The wine was good but not great. The tasting room is nice and has a good collection of items to browse while visiting. A nice stop that we really enjoyed.

We recently returned to this tasting room and loved every minute we were there! Stephanie, the young lady that poured for us was fantastic! When we told her what wine we were looking for even tho they didn't have any there she quickly go on the phone to the owner, Rob McCormick and asked him if he had any at the winery. He told her it was bottled but not yet labeled but to send us up, which was less than 5 mins away, and and he would make sure we got what we wanted. When we arrived he took us on a quick tour and then boxed up the wine we needed and even gave us labels! We returned to the tasting room the purchase more wine and to thank Stephanie for all her help. We will be returning again & again when we are in the area! GREAT JOB RON & STEPHANIE!!!!!

Easy access, great staff, killer view and Bald Eagle roosting in season, and the wine is very good, also! :-)

What a pretty view. We drove to Memaloose specifically to pick up my sisters wine club selections for her. However, we found Memaloose to be delightful to visit. The owner was tending the tasting bar and he was knowledgeable and fun. The wines are excellent. There are tables to sit and and enjoy the wines (inside or outside). The tasting room is easy to find with plenty of parking. This is an excellent, friendly little winery to stop at. Don't miss it on your Columbia River Gorge tasting tour.

Lyle Washington is an up and comer in the Columbia Gorge AVA, the Primitivo and Cab Franc are amazing food pairers. Love the french-style Rose for sipping. Nice people and beautiful view from the deck on the Columbia River.
