We were puppy sitting and brought "Mimi" to run and play with other pups.... being our first time to a dog park, I was highly impressed! Well gated going in/out; poop bags available; benches to sit on; clean; and huge running area! There is also a very nice hiking path that goes just behind the park for those interested in a little climbing. Impressive Mukilteo! Now I want a pup!

This is a fantastic dog park. They can't all be expansive like Whidbey Island or Marymoor. The fence is NOT low. There IS shade depending on what time of day you go thanks to the tree line. There IS a shy dog area that is fenced as well. And soon there will be an agility course and an expansion. It DOES have a honey bucket. You DO need to take your own water and bowl though which is generally a safer way to go. It IS adequate space & very well maintained by VOLUNTEERS. Check out their Facebook page at Tails and Trails Mukilteo Dog Park. You can purchase sweatshirts, T-shirts and bandanas to benefit the park. This park was created and is maintained thanks to the volunteers and donations. It has been a labor of love & is a huge asset to the community. Please enjoy it and the surrounding trails with your friendly pup. Remember to Scoop :)

I applaud the people who worked so hard to bring an off-leash dog park to the Mukilteo area; it took a long time. I wish they had had a larger space to work with. This dog park amounts to a low-fenced ring full of bark chips. There is no shade and no view. It is fine for very small dogs, but for larger or more active dogs, such as our Australian shepherd, it really is not adequate. My opinion is probably over-influenced by the wonderful large off-leash areas we have on Whidbey Island. Trails and Tails is a good start; one hopes it can be enlarged upon in the future.
