washington center for the performing arts

Always has a mixed list of performances each season. I haven't really seen a bad performance there. Cast of road shows are always excellent.

Olympia is blessed to have this performance space. It is very well managed and offers world class traveling events and performers throughout the year, interspersed with excellent local events as well.One assumes locals all know about this place, so my review comments are for someone looking up the venue to learn if they really want to pay $40 or something to see some traveling show here, as opposed to go to Seattle or Portland to catch it. The answer is absolutely yes. Parking is easy & free. There are no bad seats. The sound is excellent (even for us hearing impaired types). And probably the show will cost $10 or $20 more if you see it elsewhere...

The Washington Center has been open since the Mid1980s. It had been a movie theater and garage, but was repurposed for concerts and plays. The exterior was recently renovated. The Interior could use some renovation. The theater is intimate, even though it seats nearly 1000. The best seats are in the center Loge.
