On Wednesday nights, 7-9pm, Rockwall Cellars features live music. A small winery not far off Highway 97 has decent wine. You can bring a picnic dinner and non-alcoholic drinks, but understandably are expected to purchase a glass or bottle of wine! The band appreciates tips.

Only a mile or so from wherever you find yourself in Omak, Rockwall Cellars is located in a cool, leafy spot with shaded tables to sit and enjoy a glass or a bottle of Rockwall Cellars wine. For $10 you can buy a box of snacks to "go with". The owner will walk you through an informative wine tasting -- for free, as far as I could tell -- and no pressure to purchase a bottle of their very nice wine. A big draw for me was the "artist" label made especially for each year's Omak Rodeo and World Famous Suicide Race. You may even be able to purchase one signed (in gold on the bottle) by the artist. Our stop there during our rodeo visit was a welcome change of pace (and temperature!).

Locals love "Wine Down Wednesday" and what's not to love? Wine, live music, bring your own snacks or purchase a snack platter. I personally love the option of bringing my own picnic to share with friends and sometimes they even fire up their grill for customer use--too cool. Don't forget to tip the musician!
