We were met at the gate by a wonderfully friendly and informative employee (Catherine) There were ospreys and eagles flying over the water and roosting....sometimes with freshly caught fish. Took some awesome shots. We also went over to the trout hatchery and saw thousands of fingerlings that will soon be released into the lake by the Lake Curlew Association. Very interesting. Saw a lot of trees that were blown down in a rare microburst several years ago. The area is attractive and the park is groomed like a golf course, spic and spam! Highly recommended.

The caretakers and Ranger staff do a great job here. Fishing is good and prices are not bad for camping. Caught some nice rainbow from shore.

Went there for the first time not knowing what to expect. Great little park. Found out about tent site #52. If anyone is tent camping and don't mind packing your gear about 100'. This MUST be reserved! Right on the lake. Very private and spacious. What a find! Park by the boat launch and haul your gear in then move your car over the hill to park. Insider tip! don't tell anyone! The bathrooms/showers by the "day-use" site are a lot newer and the showers are quite nice. A little bit of a walk so we drove. No waiting in line. Do need quarters though 75 cents gets you more than enough time. Be warned. You can't drink the water, some form of bacteria in it, they do provide water at the camp host site for free. Also camping with a tent anywhere else in the park on the grass will get you and your gear wet when the sprinklers turn on!!
