I really liked this area. I didn't get to spend as much time as I wanted as we had a scheduled whale tour. But the little I saw made me want more.

Take a stroll through the sculpture park for your culture shot of the week. Modern, contemporary, whatever -- you can find it here.

There is so much beautiful art to see in this sculpture park, it's almost too much for one visit. The sculptures are spread out over a lovely outdoor setting, making the most of the natural environment. What a beautiful treat to find on San Juan Island.

The park itself is nestled near Roche Harbor and is across the street from the small airport. This location also gives you a view of a small tidal area of Wescott Bay.There is plenty of free parking and the walk to the entrance of the park is only a few steps. While there is not necessarily an entrance fee it is recommended that visitors give a $5 donation. I can imagine it takes quite a bit of work to keep the area clean and maintained as this is an outdoor place that takes up quite a bit of land. The park is laid out with various "roads" that act as pathways to take your around the park. My wife and I basically walked all around and wanted to view each piece as well as their signing. This park is unique since these creations are made by those who live on the island, many of which are retired artists. My wife and I balked on this park our first visit to the island, but were very happy to spend around an hour walking around this park this visit. If you appreciate art or just creativity then this is a great place to take a peaceful walk. You may hear an occasional airplane take off, but it just adds to the uniqueness of the park.

The sculptures placed into the meadow, pond, forest and bay setting are really varied, from metal strips to Tibetan prayer wheels, stone to zen garden gates. A very enjoyable hike by itself, the art enhances the setting and the quotes inspire. Will definitely come again!

Worth a visit if you visiting Roche Harbor, or driving around the island as others mentioned. Many interesting pieces to see on a large property that is a nice walk/hike. Very interesting. $5 dollar donation per person recommended.

During a ride around the island to check out the sites we stopped at the sculpture park before heading to the Grill in La Roche for lunch. There was a can for donations. A lady at entrance asked us if we needed change so it felt more like an admission fee. You get a map that includes a few different ways to walk around the field and pond tod view the sculptures displayed for sale. I liked the orca made of pistons and ? the best. My husband liked the dragon. The dragon fly was cool too. The prices were more than my 2 week trip to the northwest from NJ. But is was interesting. We might have stayed longer but it was also unusually hot when we were there. If you have the time or are into art, check it out.

This place is well worth visiting... it is a great value... the walking it easy with beautiful surrounding scenery. There is a broad array of sculptures made of a wide variety of materials. This is a nice place for a walk, chat and nice discussion of the art! There is no fee, only a $5 recommended donation! It is well worth contributing!

This is a great stop in a field towards the north of the island, especially if you enjoy art. It is a 19 acre field filled with rotating exhibits of sculptures made from different mediums including ceramics, wood, metal, glass, bronze, and stone. My favorites were the children riding on a horse, a frog, dragon fly, God's Hands and St. Frances. You can take some cool pictures looking like a giant dragon fly landed on your finger! (We fooled our daughter!) Most of the pieces are for sale by the artists or on loan to the park. There is a $5 suggested donation for an easy stroll around the field which will take you less than an hour. It is located on a turn off heading towards Roche Harbor.

Three adults enjoyed walking around the sculpture park. The art is scattered throughout a large open field. You could spend 15 minutes for two hours depending how much you wanted to walk. This would be great for families. Kids can run and touch most artwork.

Love to walk around and see the art from local artists. Some are huge and some are normal but all of them could live here with me!

An awe-inspiring experience to be in a gorgeous nature area experiencing sculpture as artistic as I've ever seen. Beautiful, moving, enjoyable in a wordless way.

I live on San Juan Island and I love to visit this park alone or with visitors. It is fun to see the sculptures and discuss what we see as we walk over many acres of land. It is a beautiful and well-kept setting adjacent to Roche Harbor resort. You can bring a picnic and relax (there is a restroom, too) so it is a very enjoyable time for families or groups and you can also bring your pet (just pick up after your pet because that is the only thing that drives people bananas.). Also, there is no entrance fee but a $5 suggested donation helps pay for upkeep. Kids are welcome for free. It's a great spot to include in your visit.

You wouldn't know it from the road but there were more than 125 sculptures on 20 acres with 5 nature trails. I loved the beautiful gardens in front which lead to wide open fields, then through a forest, along a bay and around a pond. The grounds have been mowed in such a way as to lead you from one sculpture to another and the artwork is enhanced by the natural surroundings. They even had a Starfish Project for the children which allowed them to make their own sculptures with driftwood and other recycled materials. A fun day and I'll definitely do it again when visiting San Juan Island.

Unbelievable collection of stunning artwork laid out on twenty manicured acres. Trails and paths through the park took us to many new discoveries and the natural beauty of the place was over the top.
